The Pokemon Company recently revealed brand-new Poison/Normal-type Pokemon Grafaiai to the world with a video made up to look like a nature documentary. Grafaiai will be making its debut in the upcoming Pokemon Scarlet and Violet games, and now fans can watch a brief gameplay video to see how it looks in the actual games themselves.

The Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Grafaiai gameplay video is brief, but it does show what the Pokemon looks like when out and about in the Paldea region's open world. In the clip, Grafaiai can be seen licking its hands and painting on objects, which is how it spreads its poisonous slime. According to Grafaiai's lore, the poison's smell attracts Bug-type Pokemon and paralyzes them, making them easy pickings for so-called Toxic Monkey.

The video also shows Grafaiai in a Pokemon battle against a Jumpluff. Jumpluff is a Grass/Flying-type Pokemon that was first introduced to the Pokemon franchise all the way back in the Generation 2 games, and it will once again be appearing in the upcoming Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Unfortunately, the video ends before Pokemon fans can see the conclusion of the battle, but it does show Grafaiai using what appears to be a Poison-type attack of some sort.

Something that's especially interesting about the video is the fact that it takes place during the day. Shortly after The Pokemon Company released the original Grafaiai video, it also updated the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet website with more detailed information about the creature. Grafaiai's description on the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet site confirmed that it is a nocturnal creature, which lead to some speculation that it would only be available to catch at night. It would be far from the first Pokemon whose appearance was dependent on a day/night cycle, but if this video is any indication, it seems that isn't the case.

Grafaiai is just one of the new Pokemon coming in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Neither Nintendo nor The Pokemon Company have revealed the full list of new Pokemon coming in the new games, but reputable leakers have suggested that there will be over 100 new Pokemon in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet by the time it's all said and done. If that's true, the vast majority of new Pokemon in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet have yet to be revealed to the public, and it's unclear when such a reveal may take place.

There are rumors that a Nintendo Direct presentation is going to happen in the very near future, and if those rumors are true, perhaps fans will learn about more new Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Pokemon at the event.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet launch November 18, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
