One Pokemon Scarlet and Violet player points out yet another bug that they found in the latest entries to the beloved franchise, with this strange glitch causing an NPC Trainer to emit rays of light from their eyes similar to a flashlight. The Generation 9 games have been in no shortage of hilarious, questionable, and often outright ridiculous bugs since they released, and new clips shared on social media prove that fans are continuing to discover new technical glitches in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet even months after launch.

As most gamers both inside and outside the Pokemon community will surely know by now, Scarlet and Violet have been infamous for their poor technical polish since launch. The games' massively underwhelming graphical quality, blatant performance issues, and apparently ceaseless onslaught of bugs are mostly responsible for dragging the rating for Scarlet and Violet on Metacritic down to the lowest score of any main-series Pokemon titles in the franchise's history. While the games have caught a lot of flack for the bugs, the vast majority of them experienced by players are thankfully not likely to cause any significant problems, with many of them setting up some rather amusing moments instead.

A great example of such an eye-opening glitch was shared in a post on Reddit by the user SnakeForce, one of the many active fans of the new Pokemon games. The player noticed an odd detail about an NPC Pokemon Trainer's eyes during their animation after a battle, which appeared to shoot beams of light out through the fog like flashlights. Although it's safe to assume that enemy trainers probably aren't intended to be running around with light bulbs for eyes, another fan speculates that this uncommon occurrence could be the result of reflection issues in certain lighting conditions.

While this is far from what might be considered the strangest glitch in Scarlet and Violet so far, it's not even the first wacky eye-related bug that players have encountered either. A hilarious glitch shared by a player shortly after the games were released involves a player character running around with their eyes popped several inches out of their face, which made for a clip that went viral on Twitter.

Although the range of technical issues might put many gamers off buying the latest Generation 9 titles, it's worth noting that many in the fanbase have found themselves thoroughly enjoying Scarlet and Violet thanks to the new open-world mechanics and gameplay features. Although many have even gone so far as to crown the new games as their favorites in the franchise, the initial backlash from fans across social media was clear in its message that the quality of the new games at launch was far from expected standards.
