Horsea and Seadra are both generation 1 Pokemon that have existed for some time. These two Water-type Pokemon have now made their way into Scarlet and Violet via the new Pokedex for The Indigo Disk DLC. The second generation of games introduced a third new form for the seahorse duo called Kingdra, a dual Water/Dragon-type.

Evolving Seadra into Kingdra takes a couple of steps, so in this guide, we'll show how to do it.

Water-type Pokemon come in all shapes, sizes, and designs, but some of them are simply better than others. Here's a look at the best so far.

How to Get Horsea and Seadra

Before you can evolve Seadra into Kingdra, you'll need to get one first. Luckily, Horsea and Seadra are pretty easy to find in the wild (and they have the same habitat). Just look in the Coastal, Canyon, and Polar biomes. We managed to find a bunch of them on the northern end of the map between the border of the Coastal and Polar areas.

Horsea will evolve into Seadra once it reaches level 32.

How to Evolve Seadra into Kingdra in The Indigo Disk (Seadra and Kingdra Trade Code)

The only way to evolve Seadra into Kingdra is by trading with another player while the Pokemon holds the Dragon Scale item. This means you must connect online and find somebody willing to help you. Luckily, the Pokemon community has developed some trade codes to help players find other players trying to get a specific Pokemon.

The trade code for Seadra holding a Dragon Scale is 2054-2054.

To trade with another player...

  • Press the X button and connect to the internet by pressing L.
  • Go to Poke Portal.
  • Press Link Trade.
  • Set the Link Code to 2054-2054 and then begin the search.
  • Some players won't need the Pokemon back but hang around after the trade just in case they want it returned.

Where to Find a Dragon Scale in The Indigo Disk DLC

You can try to use the Item Printer at Blueberry Academy to get your hands on a Dragon Scale, but there's a location you can also go to in the Coastal Biome to get one without any hassle. If you walk north/northeast from the Coastal Rest Area, you'll eventually reach a white bridge that leads to the Coastal Plaza. Before walking over the bridge, look to the left to find a sparkling Poke Ball on the floor. This is a Dragon Scale.

You can also buy a Dragon Scale at the Blueberry Academy School Store, which costs 250 BP.
