Pokemon Scarlet and Violet included roughly 103 new pokemon to the roster of pocket monsters a player could catch during their adventure in the region of Paldea. While some designs are argued by players to look cool, with the pokemon looking obviously powerful or even adorable, others have very questionable designs.

Not every pokemon added in the ninth generation will impress players, however some designs have left them wondering what Game Freak was planning with these new creations. Therefore, these are by far the funniest looking generation nine pokemons that players can catch while exploring the all-new region of Paldea.

8 Iron Bundle

While its ancestor Delibird isn't new, with the small penguin pokemon being introduced in the second generation of Pokemon. The metallic Paradox pokemon Iron Bundle is, and it continues to be one of the cutest yet funniest looking pokemon in the franchise.

While Delibird was ice and flying, Poor Iron Bundle's metal body means it's too heavy to fly, and therefore it is instead Ice and Water. It continues to carry around its tail, though unlike Delibird this isn't used as a way to store food but instead allows Iron Bundle to use propulsion to reach different places.

7 Toedscool

Another pokemon that looks similar to others in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, is the once water pokemon Toedscool. Fans of the franchise may realize that its design is incredibly similar to Tentacool and that's because it is.

Evolution has worked in a way to cause this pokemon to appear on land in Paldea where it instead replicates the look of a mushroom and runs around on the now tentacle like feet. The funniest part of its design minus its tiny eyes and serious expression, is the way it runs, with no hands watching this pokemon zoom along is sure to make a player chuckle.

6 Kingambit

Kingambit's Pokedex entry, introduced in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

Many players would argue that Kingambit has an incredibly cool design, especially as a new evolution for the line of Pawniard that originally released in the fifth generation. Now that the ninth generation has arrived Kingambit can be considered a Pseudo-legendary with its third and final evolution.

This magnificent pokemon also loses some of its charm when using the let's Go feature, allowing the player's companion to follow them around while they explore, freely battling wild pokemon. However, due to it always sitting, Kingambit looks to be riding around on some sort of mini vacuum that causes his head to be thrown back as his body goes forward.

5 Bellibolt

Evolving from Tadbulb when exposed to a Thunder Stone, Bellibolt is not only one of the funniest pokemon a player can own but also one of the funniest. Firstly, is its adorable large design that calls him an electric frog but his green skin and large black belly replicates that of an avocado.

The electric type pokemon can apparently move very fast when it wants to, but much like the forever loved Snorlax Bellibolt chooses to be sluggish and laid-back in its approach to everything. It's smiling face makes up for the troubles it has in battle, but players shouldn't be fooled by its design as Bellibolt can still be an intimidating foe.

4 Palafin

While Palafin is just a dolphin for the most part when using the ability only it knows called Zero to Hero, Palafin takes on an entirely new shape called his Hero form. Somehow in the only way pokemon can explain it becomes a superhero where it somehow finds a way to stand on its own tail fins as if they were feet.

Palafin is quite literally the protector of Paldea as it has been known to hear the cries of its allies and then jump straight into battle. It is also very strong as this odd super dolphin can list cruise ships and swim at insane speeds.

3 Klawf

Throughout the entirety of the Pokemon franchise, both the fish and crustacean pokemon have had some questionable designs, Klawf the ambushing crab pokemon is no different. Although its design could be argued as being very basic, as this rock type pokemon is simply an orange crab, its design looks very strange due to the fur that emerges from different parts of its body.

Reading Klawf's Pokedex entry is also quite entertaining for players as it describes how this pokemon will hang from cliff sides upside down waiting for its prey to appear. Yet it can't stay like this for too long, or it will become dizzy.

2 Spidops

The Pokedex entry of Spidops from Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

Spidops is one of the few bug type pokemon players can catch in Scarlet and Violet, though it is also one of the many bug types with a funny design. Though its pre-evolution of Tarountula may be seen as quite cute by players, when it evolves to Spidops as early as level fifteen, Spidops escapes from its cocoon of silk into a little green bug with a killer mustache.

As a pokemon players can catch early, many players may find themselves accidentally having Spidops in their roster. Though this may not be a bad thing it continues to be one of the most questioned pokemon in the title even if it has its own signature move.

1 Rellor

Overall, the funniest looking pokemon in the entirety of the ninth generation of pokemon in Scarlet and Violet is by far another bug type by the name of Rellor. Although Rellor may at first appear like a simple Dung Beetle, players that take a closer look at its design may notice the tiny upside face on its body.

Players will never see Rellor without its mud ball as it depends on it to evolve. This is of no surprise either as taking 1000 steps using the Let's Go feature will evolve this upside down pokemon into Rabsca, which looks even cooler while keeping its hilarious upside-down face.
