The Lechonk April Fool's event sees Lechonk take over the entire Pokemon website, with Lechonk replacing every Pokemon listed on the roster for Pokemon Scarlet & Violet. Here's how players can get their hands on that exclusive Lechonk completely free.
Where to Get the Free Flying Tera-Type Lechonk Worldwide
In order to get the card for the Flying Tera-Type Lechonk, players will have to go into certain stores, depending on their location, and ask for one. The cards are free and do not need to be accompanied by any purchase. Here are all the stores worldwide that are taking part in the event:
- March 31 – April 15, 2023 (US/Canada) at GameStop
- March 31 – April 14, 2023 (UK) at GAME
- March 31 - April 13th (Germany/Italy) at GameStop
- March 31 - April 13th (Spain) at GAME
- March 31 - April 13th (Belguim/Netherlands) at GameMania

How to Redeem the Free Flying Tera-Type Lechonk In-Game
In order to redeem the free Flying Tera-Type Lechonk, players must use the in-game Mystery Gift feature. Classically, Mystery Gift codes for Pokemon Scarlet & Violet have been distributed online, but as this Lechonk is an exclusive event, players must use the unique code that can be found on the back of the card given to them by their distribution store.
Players can take the following steps to redeem the Free Flying Tera-Type Lechonk:
- Open Pokemon Scarlet or Pokemon Violet.
- Go to the menu by pressing the '-' key.
- Click 'Poke Portal.'
- Click Mystery Gift at the bottom of the screen.
- Click 'Get With Code/Password.'
- Enter their unique code.
If the player has space in their party, the event Lechonk will appear in the party. If not, it will be sent to the boxes.
What Does the Free Flying Tera-Type Lechonk Come With?
Given that Lechonk can be found in-game pretty easily, this event Lechonk needs to come with something unique that makes it worth the trek to the store. Aside from the Flying Tera-Type, the event Lechonk comes with a Classic Ribbon, a ribbon that is only given out to certain Event Pokemon. It also comes in a Cherish Ball, a type of Pokeball only distributed through events.
