After several weeks of waiting, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet trainers will soon have a new seven-star Tera raid battle to sink their teeth into. The news of the upcoming battle arrived as the Gimmighoul Tera raids came to a close in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet after running for nearly two weeks. In the previous seven-star Tera raid battle, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players faced Chesnaught the Unrivaled, which had Rock-type as its Tera-type. While the battle against Chesnaught started in the middle part of May, the rematch was delayed for several weeks following some issues that caused games to crash after completing a battle. Those Pokemon Scarlet and Violet raids returned in June, and players were able to challenge Chesnaught, Great Tusk, and Iron Treads. Soon, a new seven-star Tera raid challenge will arrive to test trainers.RELATED: Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Code Gets You a Free Shiny ArcanineFrom Friday, July 7 at 0:00 UTC to Sunday, July 9 at 23:59 UTC, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players will be able to challenge Delphox the Unrivaled. Delphox will have the Fairy-type as its Tera type. Pokemon trainers that miss this chance to face Delphox the Unrivaled will get a second chance the following weekend, from Friday, July 14 to Sunday, July 16. The raid arrives just days after the release of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Patch 1.3.2, an update that added some fixes to live tournaments and addressed some undisclosed bugs.

Originally a Fire and Psychic dual-type Pokemon from the Kalos region, Delphox is the final evolution of Fennekin, the Fire-type starter of Pokemon X and Y. The Fox Pokemon is a fast special attacker with decent special defense. Like other seven-star Tera raid bosses in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, Delphox will come with its Hidden Ability, which is Magician. This allows Delphox to steal held items from its target. Between that and the move Magic Room, which negates all held items for five turns, Delphox the Unrivaled will test the strategies of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet trainers.

Delphox can learn powerful moves such as Mystical Fire, Psychic, and Dazzling Gleam to take advantage of its special attack, and can buff them with Nasty Plot or Calm Mind. Dark and Poison dual-type Pokemon such as Alolan Muk, Overqwil, and Skuntank, in addition to Pokemon with Flash Fire such as Heatran, may be the key to taking down Delphox the Unrivaled.

Delphox also completes the trio of Pokemon X and Y starters that have served as seven-star Tera raid bosses, starting with Greninja the Unrivaled in February and more recently with Chesnaught. All in all, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet trainers will have a true test ahead of them.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are available now for Nintendo Switch.
