A Pokemon Scarlet and Violet fan designed a mecha version of Raging Bolt, the newly announced official Paradox form for Raikou. With the immense popularity of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, which have sold over 22 million units so far, several fans were inspired to create excellent pieces of Pokemon fan art.

Last week, four Pokemon were revealed for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet’s upcoming DLC, including Raging Bolt, a past Paradox form for Raikou inspired by a plesiosaurus. Now Raging Bolt has inspired one artist to come up with a new version of the Paradox Pokemon.

A Pokemon Scarlet and Violet fan with excellent artistic skills called Shunixe recently shared an amazing mecha form for Raging Bolt. The design is excellent, taking the overall shape of the official Raging Bolt and adding a metal skin and details such as turbines and some electric sparks that make it look really menacing. The post also comes with a bonus, a mecha version of Reshiram, a Dragon/Fire Pokemon introduced in Gen 5, which also looks amazing as a mecha.

The overall reception of the community was pretty positive, with some people even saying that they prefer the fan-made version to the original one designed by the developers. Shunixe has created several Pokemon designs before and one of them was even a mecha version of Raikou. Last year, even before Scarlet and Violet were launched, they unveiled an impressive-looking version of the Thunder-type Legendary Pokemon, so it’s no surprise that they decided to use their artistic talents again now that everybody is talking about Raikou’s Paradox form.

The Pokemon community’s recent obsession with Raikou has sparked quite a lot of excellent fan art. One example of that is El-psy-congroo-01’s Paradox form for Raikou. Instead of following the official design and making it look different like Shunixe did, this artist instead completely re-imagined Raikou as Iron Sabre, a future Paradox form for the tiger-like Pokemon, which is an Electric/Psychic type.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are out now, exclusively for Nintendo Switch.
