A seriously lucky Pokemon Scarlet and Violet player just so happens to land right on top of a rare shiny Pokemon after leaping out of the sky upon Miraidon, giving them the chance to catch an adorable shiny Eevee. The new Pokemon Scarlet and Violet games have provided avid shiny hunters with even more tools that aid in the search of rare Pokemon, leading some fans to catch dozens of the critters in recent weeks. The new Generation 9 Pokemon titles have been the center of attention since they released a couple of weeks ago, with players divided between praising the games for their new gameplay elements and criticizing them for their blatant lack of polish. Scarlet and Violet continued to develop many of the gameplay elements first introduced to players earlier this year with Pokemon Legends: Arceus, making the vast Paldea region an open world environment that players can explore freely with their Pokemon. In addition to that, Scarlet and Violet's Koraidon and Miraidon allow players to traverse the Paldea region over land, sea, or sky all while riding the same Pokemon, streamlining the Pokemon ride mechanics that were present in Pokemon Legends: Arceus.RELATED: Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Fan Uncovers Way to Duplicate Shiny Pokemon in MultiplayerA clip shared on Twitter by the user Rhymestyle shows off the fan's lucky encounter with the rare Pokemon. After flying over the expansive plains of the Paldea region for a while, the player drops out of the sky on Miraidon and happens to land right on top of a shiny Eevee. Usually, players have around about a 1 in 4000 chance of encountering a shiny Pokemon, though these odds are halved if the player has unlocked the shiny charm. Players can further reduce the odds of a shiny spawn by utilizing Scarlet and Violet's mass outbreaks and shiny sandwiches.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet has also introduced a wide variety of new Pokemon to the ecosystem of the Paldea region, each with their own unique shiny appearances for players to discover. These new Pokemon to befriend can be found in all corners of the huge Paldea region, although not every new design has been so appealing to the Pokemon community.

While many of the newly-added Pokemon have featured disappointing shiny forms in the eyes of many players, the bigger problem for shiny hunters has been the difficulty in spotting certain shiny Pokemon while they're roaming around in the overworld, as many new shiny Pokemon don't show off any significant differences from a distance. Perhaps Scarlet and Violet's most pressing issues remain to be those regarding graphical quality and performance, and while Nintendo recently announced a patch for the game, fans are skeptical about it bringing the fixes that the games need.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is available on Nintendo Switch.
