While the upcoming Pokemon Presents will have plenty of information for fans, there's little doubt one of the most anticipated announcements is DLC for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. The games pretty clearly set this up, while rumors and leaks have long suggested the existence of DLC. Of course, the biggest question is what this DLC will introduce. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet DLC seems set to add Ultra Beasts, new Paradox forms, new Paradox legendaries like Suicune and Virizion, new forms, new Pokemon, and more—with one of the biggest questions remaining around the third legendary. It's been long thought and hinted at that the third legendary of the games was tied to the Terastal phenomenon and Area Zero, as the little "hats" tied to the mechanic all seemingly have a face and they originated from the crater of Paldea. This fact, combined with some leak details, all point to the third legendary being a giant turtle, potentially based on the World Turtle associated with Hindu, Chinese, and various indigenous mythologies. Given that Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's legendary quartet tie into Chinese mythology, it could be that the World Turtle ties this all together, at least thematically.RELATED: Pokemon Fan Creates Paradox Form for Charizard

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet DLC Third Legendary Theories and Rumors

More than that, though, Riddler Khu has hinted at the hexagonal shapes associated with Tera and, recently, showed a series of images with that turning into a clear turtle shell. This is big, no doubt, and the closest to confirmation fans may get for a while. However, it fits lore-wise too. Traditionally, the World Turtle is depicted as having a series of elephants on its back that hold up the entire world. Now, the third legendary holding up the entire Pokemon world or even Paldea region is unlikely, given the lore around Groudon or Kyogre, but it could still work if Game Freak wanted to go that far. However, an easy revision would be that the crater of Area Zero is what is supposed to be on the World Turtle legendary's back.

As such, it could be that players are technically going into the third legendary when entering Area Zero, and the lower they go, the more mystery and Tera crystals there are. Taking it a step down, though, it's noteworthy that Donphan gets Past and Future paradox forms when elephants (Donphan being based on a pygmy elephant) are shown on the World Turtle. In other words, adopting Area Zero and Donphan could suggest a big, if somewhat smaller scale, World Turtle legendary.

Not to mention, the Paldea region was codenamed Titan, which makes sense given the introduction of Titan Pokemon. It stands to reason, though, that Titan is derived from more than just a handful of encounters. It could be that the "Titan" in reference is the World Turtle, which also begs some questions regarding the legendary Regi-titans, but all will likely be answered or revealed in due time.

Of course, it could be something else, but it does seem likely that this comes to fruition to some degree. It's unlikely, however, that fans get complete answers at the Pokemon Presents, nor is it certain which DLC will add the third legendary (on the assumption there is more than one). Still, it'll be very interesting to see how this plays out in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are available now, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
