It's a matter of when, not if, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet get DLC, creating a ripe opportunity for rumors and leaks to circulate. Some have been since pre-launch, like the paradox Suicune and Virizion forms, but a new one has emerged and circulated online. It claims there will only be one Pokemon Scarlet and Violet DLC called Magenta Mirage, but for those who come across it, it's worth noting that it seems fake.

It should be noted that this Pokemon Scarlet and Violet DLC "leak" originally leaked on 4chan. This should automatically cast a lot of doubt on it, but others are quick to note that some 4chan rumors do turn out true. In fact, one of the entire Pokemon Scarlet and Violet trailers leak online on that forum prior to originally coming out. But, beyond its origins, there are a few reasons to doubt its claims.

According to this "leak," Magenta Mirage is the only DLC for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet and will release in November of this year. It alleges that there is a second crater on the top right of the Paldea map, populated by two tribes: a past version and a future one. It is covered in tera crystals, trapping people and Pokemon there for hundreds of years. The third legendary for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is allegedly alled Maimyu and is a Water/Dragon-type. Maimyu uses "belief" to feed people's dreams and fuel itself, which is how Heath and the Paradox Pokemon come to be, and it is also fueled Sada/Turo to create the time machine. The DLC supposedly introduces paradox forms for Suicune, Virizion, Delphox, Chesnaught, Greninja (past and future), Kilowattrel, and Glimmora, with Chimecho and Galvantula getting new evolutions.

While an interesting enough concept, it is probably fake for a few reasons. The first is the character limits of Pokemon games always being twelve characters. Some of the names for these creatures go above that, though Magenta Mirage is not likely used in the games, but the name for Kilowattrrel is Thunder Storm, which simply sounds fake. The biggest indicator this is fake is the color association though. Riddler Khu, who has leaked several correct details regarding Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, alluded that the color associated with the DLC would be amber, not magenta.

That said, it does sound interesting enough and it's certainly possible some things were lost in translation with this leak if it were to turn out true. Stranger things have happened than a 4chan rumor coming true, but nonetheless, fans should take this specific Pokemon Scarlet and Violet rumor with plenty of salt.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are available now, exclusively for Nintendo Switch.
