Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will be receiving new DLC soon, and this is excellent news for fans. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's DLC will come in two parts, with the first part, titled The Teal Mask, slated for a Spring 2023 release. It will be taking players to a new region called Kitakami, and it appears to be heavily inspired by Japan. Although the thought of traveling out of Paldea is exciting, one wonders whether Arven will still be playing a role in the DLC, as his story was left with a few loose ends.

When players first meet Arven, he seems like nothing more than a strange character on a hunt for herbs. However, as players spend time with him, they discover his tragic storyline which leads to an even sadder conclusion. The upcoming DLC should explore how he copes with the explosive events of the base game, and how he paves a way forward for himself. Arven's story is one of Pokemon's most emotional, and it would be a pity if it were left hanging in the air.

Arven's Tragic Tale in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

Arven is the son of Professor Turo in Pokemon Violet and Professor Sada in Pokemon Scarlet. He doesn't have much of a relationship with his parent because the professor is obsessively dedicated to their work. This causes Arven to have a lonely childhood, and his Mabosstiff becomes his only friend. For a long time, Arven does not see his parent, and when he and Mabosstiff go looking for them, his Mabosstiff is terribly injured by a mysterious metallic Pokemon they later discover is a Paradox Pokemon. Though Arven searches far and wide for a cure until he learns about the Herba Mystica, which players help him find.

Together with the player, Nemona, and Penny, Arven ventures into Area Zero where he finds what appears to be his parent, only to discover that it is a robot created by the real professor, who has died already. Players defeat the fake professor, saving Paldea from the destruction that would have been wreaked by the Paradox Pokemon. However, not much time is spent focusing on Arven's reaction to the shocking news.

Following the adventure in Area Zero, Arven decides to use his culinary skills to become a cook. This is a very fitting path for him, as during the Path of Legends storyline, he turns Herba Mystica into delicious sandwiches that replenish Mabosstiff's health. Nevertheless, many questions surround this curious character. Players are left wondering whether he has truly found closure regarding his parent and whether Arven will ever display the same obsessive passion his parent did.

The upcoming DLC would be the best place to answer these lingering questions. As The Pokemon Company has revealed, in The Teal Mask, players are part of a school trip that has them visiting Kitakami during a festival. This doesn't exclude the possibility of Arven tagging along, which would give gamers a chance to learn more about him and how he has been holding up after the shocking revelation. The Teal Mask could also reveal how his culinary career is going.

Scarlet and Violet have been kept alive by Tera Raids which give players a chance to catch exclusive Pokemon that can give them a competitive edge in battles. Though the system isn't perfect, it has been an effective way of introducing new Pokemon to Paldea. The release of the DLC will rejuvenate the games once again, and it would be a great treat for fans if Arven is not forgotten.
