  • Fans speculate that the new character Perrin in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's DLC is connected to Adaman from Pokemon Legends: Arceus as a potential ancestor.
  • The theory is based on the visual similarities between Perrin and Adaman, such as their hair color and skin tones.
  • While the theory is plausible, the fact that Perrin is from Paldea and Adaman is from Sinnoh raises questions about their shared lineage, but migration between regions is not impossible.

Recent social media posts have been connecting the new character Perrin in the upcoming Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Teal Mask DLC to Adaman from last year's Pokemon Legends: Arceus as a potential ancestor. Legends: Arceus was full of ancestors, whether it be for Pokemon like Voltorb or for cities like Jubilife, but this would be the first time any of those ancestors is connected to a Paldean character in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

More details about Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's first DLC The Teal Mask recently hit the internet through the Pokemon Presents event. Some pretty major information about the first addition to the Gen 9 games, including its September 13 release date, immediately generated buzz among the Pokemon fan base. As scrupulous fans have dug further into what was released, though, a theory has begun to arise about the potential origins of one new Teal Mask character.

A handful of Reddit posts from users like Legal-Treat-5582 and Lenyarth have been pointing out the visual parallels between the new character Perrin, who will be debuting in the story of The Teal Mask, and Adaman from PokemonLegends: Arceus. The smoking gun comparison is their hair, which for both Perrin and Adaman is mostly a darker blue with two stripes at the end, one with a lighter shade of blue and one with more of a yellowish-green. They also share extremely similar eye and skin tones. This is only a theory put forth by fans, however, and the main discrepancy that may play against it is the fact that Perrin is from Paldea and Adaman is from Sinnoh.

A full map detailing the different regions of Pokemon and their distances from each other has never been made, so it's unknown exactly how far Sinnoh is from Paldea. The fact that these are characters from two entirely different regions certainly makes the theory about Perrin and Adaman's shared lineage seem less plausible, but it's also obviously not impossible for a migration to have taken place in the 100+ years between Legends: Arceus and Scarlet and Violet.

Very little is known about Perrin as a character at this point other than her striking resemblance to Adaman and the fact that she's a photographer whose goal to capture the image of a rare Pokemon will factor into the player's quest in the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet DLC. Answers regarding her lineage may or may not wind up being Easter eggs for players to find when The Teal Mask finally hits the Switch.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are available now on Switch.
