A Pokemon Scarlet and Violet fan has drawn creative convergent forms for Zubat, Golbat, and Crobat. The Pokemon community has heated debates regarding which is the best Pokemon, and Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are no exception to the rule. Likewise, the community has can get heated when the topic is the Pokemon most hated by players.

One of the oldest cases of hate among Pokemon players is Zubat. The Poison/Flying-type is one of the original 150 Pokemon that evolves into Golbat starting at level 22, and into Crobat when leveled up with high friendship. In the games, Zubat became infamous for disturbing players by appearing at all times inside caves. Because of this, Zubat became one of the Pokemon that taught players the value of Repel the hard way. In the anime, the most notable appearance is Brock's Zubat, who just like in the games first appears disturbing another character.

User EliteRobo04 posted on Reddit a creative fan art with convergent forms for Zubat, Golbat, and Crobat. Zubat is not one of the cutest Poison-type Pokemon in the franchise, and the fan art does not change this trait. Instead, the fan art gives the Pokemon named Zubird, Golbird, and Crobird a totally different and quite fierce look. Unlike the original inspirations, these convergent forms look closer to bird Pokemon like Pidgey. Despite the radical change in appearance, EliteRobo04 has retained the original design of the bodies of Zubat, Golbat, and Crobat.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet introduced the concept of convergent form, which is based on a real-life phenomenon. In games, the phenomenon manifests itself when two unrelated Pokemon develop similar characteristics by being in the same environment. The idea of convergent Pokemon has already led to the creation of other variants, such as the Ghost-type Slugma fan art that explores an equally interesting idea. In a curious detail, in the fan art created by EliteRobo04, Zubird, and Golbird are Flying/Normal-type. Crobird, on the other hand, is Flying/Fighting-type, a combination seen only with Flamigo.

Zubird, Golbird, and Crobird are different, fan-created Pokemon, but they can still be perfectly associated with the originals. It is a variant that can be imagined to have appeared by coexisting with Pidgey, Pidgeotto, and Pidgeot, with the characteristic of remarkable hunters and fierce behavior. The convergent forms created by EliteRobo04 also have the potential to scare players. It's something that wouldn't be out of context, after all, because no matter what Pokemon game, Zubat always finds a way to scare players.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are available on Nintendo Switch.
