Reddit user kanna172014 shared the clip showing the encounter with a shiny Riolu, but the battle ends in an upset as they can't catch the Pokemon. To avoid the situation, one Pokemon player known as Silver_Aura2424 gave a clever tip: have a Ghost-type Pokemon in the party. Riolu has access to Final Gambit, a Fighting-type move that makes it faint after use. Ghost-type Pokemon are immune to Fighting-type attacks, so Riolu won't be able to hit Final Gambit and faint. Even though it's not one of the most powerful moves Pokemon can learn, Final Gambit can make a battle very frustrating.
For Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players to get a shiny Pokemon, luck often is not enough, as the odds are very low under normal conditions. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet introduced Sandwiches as a mechanic to increase the chances of finding a shiny by using the specific ingredient for the desired type. Riolu, being a Fighting-type Pokemon, has pickles as the main ingredient in the Sandwich used to find its shiny form. Once players have captured a Riolu, they can evolve it into Lucario, one of the strongest Fighting-type Pokemon in Scarlet and Violet.
