Pokemon Scarlet & Violet has been thoroughly played by many different aspiring trainers out there all over the world, so now is the time for experts to shine through playing "nuzlocks." Nuzlocks are a special way to play a Pokemon game, basically turning the kid-friendly monster-catching game into a tear-inducing and stressful gameplay!

There are many different types of nuzlocks, one being in which players are only allowed to use grass-type Pokemon. Luckily for players in Scarlet & Violet, there are plenty of different viable Pokemon to take on the harsh region of Paldea and its many challenges. There are a select group of grass-types that may be better-suited for this specification though.

10 Scovillain

Scovillain is an amazing generation 9 Pokémon that players are originally introduced to while playing the game as Nintendo did not showcase the pepper-inspired Pokemon in the game's trailers. Scovillain has a unique typing: Grass and fire-type.

Because of Scovillain's typing, its move-pool has great range, as well as having a great type-effectiveness chart. For an all grass-type run, Scovillain is almost a must-have because of its fire typing, so that players can wipe out any Pokemon weak to fire-type moves.

9 Meowscarada

The unfortunately-bipedal Pokemon Meowscarada is the third-stage evolution to the adorable Sprigatito. This starter Pokemon is arguably the best out of the three starters, especially in account to its incredible speed-stat. Meowscarada is the fastest Pokemon starter of all time, even faster by a point above Greninja.

Meowscarada is also a grass and dark-type Pokemon, giving her access to some unique type-advantages and great moves. When playing an all grass-type Pokemon run, players should make the obvious choice and start with Sprigatito.

Wo-Chien is an interesting legendary Pokemon that many may not hear about for a long time while playing Scarlet & Violet. In order to capture the legendary Wo-Chien, players must obtain 8-stakes in the eastern location in the South Province area.

Wo-Chien is the best grass-type Pokemon in regard to its statistics in Scarlet & Violet, as the total of its stats equal to a great 580. Wo-Chien is another grass and dark-type Pokemon with a great ability: Tablets of Ruin. This ability lowers all other Pokemon's attack-stat besides itself.

7 Breloom

Breloom has been a reliable choice for any Pokemon fan for many generations of the famous franchise. This grass and fighting-type Pokemon has great stats, great typing, and a wonderful move-pool for players to decide how they want to build their Breloom. Breloom also has numerous resistances, making it great against different Pokemon.

Breloom also has amazing abilities in the game, most notably its Poison Heal ability and its hidden ability, Technician. Poison Heal heals the Pokemon rather than damaging it while poisoned, and Technician increases the damage of a move by 50% with a base power lower than 60.

6 Brute Bonnet

Brute Bonnet is one of the best Paradox Pokemon that players can find in Pokemon Scarlet. It's also good to note that this Pokemon is only obtainable in Scarlet, but Violet players can acquire the 'Mon from a friend or by playing in their world.

Brute Bonnet is yet another grass and dark-type Pokemon on this list, but for fair reason. This heavy-hitting Pokemon has some of the best health and attack stats in the game, making for a great tank-like Pokemon for all grass-type runs. Players can catch this Pokemon in Area Zero.

5 Gogoat

Gogoat is a great candidate for players running through Pokemon Scarlet & Violet using onyl grass-type Pokemon, making the goat-themed Pokemon a great example of strong Pokemon from Pokemon X & Y.

Gogoat is one of the highest-ranking grass-type Pokemon in Scarlet & Violet based on its base stats. In fact, Gogoat ranks just a little higher than Meowscarada. With amazing health, attack, and both defense stats, this Pokemon is a great choice for an all grass-type run in Scarlet & Violet.

4 Toedscruel

Toedscruel is one of the few Pokemon that somewhat received a Paldean-form, and it makes for a great unique-typed Pokemon in Scarlet & Violet. Toedscruel is a grass and ground-type Pokemon, giving it some essential advantages in the game. Toedscruel also has a unique ability, being Mycelium Might.

This ability allows Toedscruel to disregard the effects of other Pokemon when hitting them with a status move, in return for acting slower. Toedscruel also has wonderful special-defense, speed, and a good range of attack stats. This Pokemon is capable of some great builds, whether it be built for disruption or tank-like, making it a great choice for an all grass-type run.

3 Abomasnow

Abomasnow is another past-generation Pokemon that players can encounter in the new Pokemon game. Abomasnow's typing is grass and ice-type, making it a very unique Pokemon within type effectiveness charts.

This Pokemon has scary amount of weaknesses, but its ice-typing makes it a great choice for an all grass-type run so that the player has access to great ice-type moves. It's also worth mentioning that Abomasnow has good health and defensive stats, so a tank build would make Abomasnow worthy in a party.

2 Flapple

The apple-inspired dragon Pokemon Flapple makes its way into Scarlet & Violet, met by the love of many fans. Flapple is a grass and dragon-type Pokemon, and because of its dragon-typing, Flapple has access to some incredible moves.

Flapple isn't considerably better than it's counterpart Appletun, but Flapple's higher speed-stat makes it better for taking on challenges in Scarlet & Violet. Flapple also has an amazing attack-stat, as well as some good defensive stats, making the apple Pokemon a great all-rounder for a team.

1 Lurantis

Lurantis is a generation 7 Pokemon that evolves from Formantis. This wonderfully designed Pokemon is unexpectedly one of the best grass-types in Pokemon: Scarlet & Violet. Its simple typing allows for easier counter-attacks, as well as simple offensive strategies.

Lurantis' hidden ability Contrary is a great ability as it makes stat-changing moves do the opposite. Notably, Lurantis has great defensive stats, and is capable of doing some incredible damage with physical-attack moves. This Pokemon is one of the best for an all grass-type run through Scarlet & Violet.
