Paradox Pokemon are now legal in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet ranked battles. That means that Iron Bundle can begin its reign of terror if players give it a proper build.

Pokemon Sun & Moon had their own sub-class of legendary Pokemon with the Ultra Beasts, and Pokemon Scarlet & Violet does the same with Paradox Pokemon. These Pokemon have stats that are comparable to staple “trio” legendaries like Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres, but they can be caught multiple times on one save. The Pokemon is version-exclusive, but there are trade codes to help players get one.

570 total base stats isn’t necessarily a guarantee of success in competitive battling, but Iron Bundle has the typing, move set, and distribution to make some serious noise in all formats. While Delibird is weak, its Paradox form is deadly. Here is how to build Iron Bundle for both singles and doubles battling.

Best Iron Bundle Build for Singles Battles

The best singles build for Iron Bundle maxes out its speed and special attack stats while giving it a broad assortment of coverage options. The Pokemon can make use of a variety of items, allowing it to fit into almost any team.

Here’s a breakdown of the build:

  • Nature: Timid
  • Ability: Quark Drive
  • Tera Type: Fire, Ground
  • EV Spread: 252 Sp. Attack, 252 Speed, 6 Sp. Defense
  • Items: Booster Energy, Life Orb, Focus Sash, or Choice Specs

A 0 Attack IV is preferred, as it allows Iron Bundle to take minimum damage from harming itself while confused and Foul Play. Outside that, players will want to have max IVs, which can be easily obtained through Hyper Training. In terms of its moveset, Iron Bundle can make use of any of the following moves:

  • Ice Beam
  • Freeze-Dry
  • Hydro Pump
  • Flip Turn
  • Tera Blast
  • Substitute
  • Encore

Iron Bundle looks the part of a typical sweeper, but it has a very high 114 base defense. This allows it to shake off some physical attacks despite having low base HP. Conversely, it can also use Encore to force switches, allowing it to set up a Substitute.

Best Iron Bundle Build for Doubles Battles

Iron Bundle can largely be used in doubles the same way it is used in singles. The Pokemon is capable of one-shotting many of the common meta options and out-speeds even fast Pokemon like Meowscarada.

  • Nature: Timid
  • Ability: Quark Drive
  • Tera Type: Fire, Ground
  • EV Spread: 252 Sp. Attack, 252 Speed, 6 Sp. Defense
  • Items: Booster Energy, Life Orb, Focus Sash, or Choice Specs

Its moveset is also largely the same, with the notable exceptions of Protect, Blizzard, and Icy Wind. Icy Wind and Blizzard can hit both opponents, and while Icy Wind is usually a support move, it hits fairly hard with Iron Bundle. Blizzard can nuke down opponents and has 100% accuracy in snow.

  • Ice Beam
  • Icy Wind
  • Blizzard
  • Hydro Pump
  • Protect
  • Flip Turn
  • Tera Blast
  • Substitute
  • Encore

In terms of items, there are once again a variety of options. Booster Energy activates Quark Drive to make it even faster. Focus Sash makes it harder to kill, while Life Orb and Choice Specs both boost its damage output.
