Pokemon Scarlet & Violet have been out for a few weeks now and gamers are searching across Paldea trying to complete that Pokedex. With 400 Pokemon to collect in the games, it is a real task to make sure to get all of them.

Dragon-type Pokemon are some of the strongest and sought-after among the seventeen types, especially as pseudo-legendaries are often this type. In Scarlet & Violet, there are 33 of them to collect, and they are found all across Paldea. Get the Pokeballs ready, because here are the best locations to find Dragon-type Pokemon.

  • Dragalge (Scarlet only)
  • Dratini

This cavernous biome is littered with Dragon-types, but gamers will need both versions of the game to completely catch them all. Pokemon Home is another option that can be used to transfer older Pokemon to this game. South Province Area Six is a must-visit location for Dragon-types and most of them are fairly easy to find.

9 Glaseado Mountain

As always, Glaseado Mountain is a great place to go to search for all different types of Pokemon. Not only Ice-types make this area their home. Many Dragon-types are also found lurking around the cold tundra. The following can be found here:

  • Gabite
  • Goomy
  • Altaria
  • Dreepy and Drakloak (Violet)
  • Dragalge (Scarlet)
  • Denio and Zweilous (Scarlet)
  • Frigibax

Frigibax evolves into the Arctibax at level 35, which evolves into the latest pseudo-legendary Pokemon, Baxcalibur, at level 54. Baxcalibur is a beast of Pokemon with ridiculously high stats and fantastic typing of Ice/Dragon, making it a must to pick up.

8 North Province Area One

In this area, players can find an Eelektross, which is normally an Electric-type — but this one has a tera-type of Dragon, which is certainly one for the collection. Tera-type Pokemon are the latest gimmick in the games, and they are a fantastic addition.

Casseroya Lake is a water-filled region of Paldea, home to many Water-types and some other strong Pokemon that habit the surrounding lands and islands. It is the only area in Scarlet & Violet to catch certain Dragon-types.

Tatsugiri is a new Dragon/Water-type Pokemon in Generation 9. It is based on sushi and has three different forms: curly form, droopy form, and stretchy form, each with a unique color palette. Despite its small statute, it is a great battler and certainly one to collect. The other Dragon-type Pokemon only found here is Dragonair, which of course evolves into fan-favorite Dragonite.

6 North Province Area Two

Several Dragon-types make North Province Area Two their domain. This dark, dense forest is a perfect habitat for dragons to raise, and they are all fairly high leveled. Close to the Fighting crew Team Star base, the player must traverse through this area to complete the Operation Starfall objective. The following dragons can be found here:

  • Gabite
  • Goomy
  • Noibat and Noivern
  • Dratini

Unlocked after completing the main quest, The Great Crater of Paldea is home to many powerful Pokemon, including the Paradox Pokemon. One of these is Dragon-type, the ancient ancestor to Salamence: Roaring Moon, who is exclusive to Scarlet.

With a base total stat of 590, Roaring Moon is tied with Iron Valiant as being the most powerful paradox Pokemon. Another Dark/Dragon type, this beast must be picked up and no doubt will be a great asset to any player's team.

  • Gabite
  • Goomy

Dragalge is a very useful Pokemon. Its Poison typing is a perfect counter to the Dragon-type's greatest weakness, Fairy-types. If gamers are lucky, maybe one of these Pokemon will be a shiny type. However, make sure to look carefully, as some could be hard to miss.

3 West Province Area Two

Cyclizar roams these lands. The Dragon/Normal type has a very close connection with certain other two Dragon-types found on the cover of these games. It is one only two locations where players ca find this 'mon, so make sure to catch it.

  • Gible and Gabite
  • Noibat
  • Deino and Zweilous (Scarlet)

East Province Area Three is a vast wasteland home to many different Pokemon. A few Dragon-types roam these lands, but nothing that has not been mentioned prior. There are no fixed spawns for Dragon-types, so this area could be one to miss out on.

However, Gabite, Goomy, Dreepy, Drakloak, Deino, and Zweilous have all been spotted in these lands. So, if gamers have not captured any of these before searching throughout East Province Area Three, it could be the place to look after searching all the previous areas.
