Highlights

  • Pokemon Scarlet and Violet introduced a new Tera Raid featuring Eevee, but many players found it to be too easy and lacking in challenge compared to previous raids.
  • The Tera Eevee Raid did not have the same level of difficulty as the Tera Pikachu Raid, as Eevee did not have the defensive boost from holding an Eviolite like Pikachu had with the Light Ball.
  • Some players felt that the Tera Eevee Raid was hastily put together and felt like an afterthought, possibly overshadowed by the focus on Eevee Mass Outbreaks and evolving Eevee into its different evolutions.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet launched a new Tera Raid this week featuring franchise icon Eevee. However, this particular endgame content ended up eliciting more groans than cheers after it proved to be just a cakewalk for many players.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet have Tera Raids to serve as one of the real challenges for players after they finish the game's main story. They started out as 5-star and 6-star Tera Raids featuring stronger versions of Pokemon that can be found in the game's Paldea region, but on occasion, rarer 7-star Pokemon who aren't native to Paldea are introduced to help players round out their Pokedex.

To celebrate this year's Eevee Week and Eevee Day on November 21, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is featuring Mass Outbreaks of Eevees and a 7-star Eevee Tera Raid. This Tera Eevee knows the moves Bite, Charm, Baby-Doll Eyes, Double-Edge, and Hyper Voice. Despite that, however, it's apparently an easy battle, as a post by Redditor 8bit95 says that it can be soloed even by a well-leveled Corviknight. They said they battled it with legendary Pokemon Zamazenta, which made the fight even easier.

8bit95 compares the Tera Eevee Raid to the previous Tera Pikachu Raid, which occurred in February earlier this year. They said that this Tera Eevee did not even have an Eviolite, a held item which pumps up defense and special defense stats of Pokemon who have yet to evolve. Tera Pikachu, which many claimed to have been another easy fight for them, was at least carrying a Light Ball, another held item which boosts the stats of Pikachus.

Many fellow Redditors agreed that the Tera Eevee Raid was too easy, which usually isn't the case for Tera Raid Battles in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. A commenter said that the fight felt like it was put together rather late before the Eevee Week celebrations. Another said it felt like an afterthought after the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet developers focused on the Eevee Mass Outbreaks so that players could catch groups of Eevees and evolve them into the Pokemon's eight different evolutions.

Other Redditors said they had expected Eevee to be an easy fight because of its Normal typing. Normal-type Pokemon are weak to Fighting-type moves, and any player armed with this basic knowledge can easily strategize against it, even if it is elite-level endgame content. The original poster can't really be blamed for their sentiments, however, as many gamers tend to keep playing after the Pokemon games' main story to try and beat a challenging yet rewarding endgame.
