Just days after the end of the Delphox raid battles, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet confirm that the next 7-star Tera raid boss is Rillaboom. Like all the seven-star Tera raid battles that have come and gone, this new challenger will test the type coverage of many Pokemon Scarlet and Violet trainers. To start the summer, Delphox the Unrivaled was the first new Tera raid boss to arrive in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet following a delay earlier this year that forced The Pokemon Company to pull the plug on new raid battles. Once the problems were fixed, trainers found themselves forming strategies to take down the Fox Pokemon. Some strategies were capable of taking down the Fairy-Tera type Delphox in a single strike, which is an impressive feat. However, as Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players gear up for the next battle, the new boss may prove to be a tough target to pin down.RELATED: Pokemon Fan Makes Impressive Pull-Apart Umbreon RugStarting on Thursday, July 27 at 8:00 p.m. Eastern and ending on Sunday, July 30 at 7:59 p.m. Eastern, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players will face Rillaboom the Unrivaled, which will be the first seven-star Tera raid to have the Normal-type as its Tera type. Trainers that miss the action at the end of July will have another chance in early August to face and capture the Drummer Pokemon, starting on Thursday, August 3, and ending on Sunday, August 6 at the same aforementioned times. Originally from Pokemon Sword and Shield, Rillaboom the Unrivaled joins fellow Galarian starters Inteleon and Cinderace on the list of Tera raid bosses. Trainers that best the Drummer Pokemon will be granted the Mightiest Mark.

Like other seven-star Tera raid bosses in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, Rillaboom the Unrivaled will carry its Hidden Ability Grassy Surge into the fray. This will spawn in Grassy Terrain to start the battle, which will further boost Rillaboom's signature move Drum Beating. With a high physical attack stat, and the Normal-type as its Tera type, moves such as Boomburst, Body Slam, and Tera Blast will make good use of Rillaboom's attack stat. The Drummer Pokemon is capable of using plenty of strong moves such as Knock Off, Earthquake, and Hammer Arm for type coverage, and can use Swords Dance and Bulk Up to further bolster itself. With the potential to be among the toughest Tera raid battles in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet so far, strong Pokemon such as Annihilape, Giratina, Koraidon, and Corviknight may prove to be useful against Rillaboom the Unrivaled.

While the Tera raid battle against Rillaboom the Unrivaled will not take place for another few days, rumors of a potential seven-star raid against Mewtwo have given Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players more to look forward to. Only time will tell if the rumors prove to be true.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are available now for Nintendo Switch.
