After the battles against Primarina the Unrivaled, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players will still have at least eight Seven-Star Tera raid bosses to contend with in future updates. Like Primarina and Meganium before it, the eight bosses that Pokemon Scarlet and Violet trainers will face are starter Pokemon from outside the Paldea region.

At the time of writing, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet have hosted 19 fully-evolved starter Pokemon as Seven-Star Tera Raid bosses. The latest of them was Primarina the Unrivaled, who had the Fairy type as its Tera type. Since Seven-Star Tera Raid battles were introduced shortly after the launch of the ninth generation, trainers have faced all the starter Pokemon from the Kanto, Kalos, Galar, and Hisui regions in Seven-Star Tera raid battles. Ergo, the eight outstanding starter Pokemon that have yet to appear in Tera Raids are from Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova, and Alola.

Who Are The Eight Remaining Seven-Star Tera Raid Pokemon?

  • Feraligatr
  • Sceptile
  • Swampert
  • Torterra
  • Infernape
  • Serperior
  • Emboar
  • Incineroar

While things could change, it is unlikely that the Paldean starters will appear as Seven-Star Tera raid bosses, as that would trivialize the choice trainers make at the beginning of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet ; as such, Meowscarada, Skeledirge, and Quaquaval were not counted.

Notwithstanding any reruns of past starter Pokemon in Tera raid battles, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players will have to contend with starter Pokemon that go as far back as Pokemon Gold and Silver. While Feraligatr and Sceptile remain niche picks within their respective generations, two of the more powerful Pokemon on the remaining roster include Incineroar and Serperior, both of which have moves and abilities that have carved their marks in competitive Pokemon battles.

While it is not known what these Pokemon will have for Tera types, Pokemon such as Charizard the Unrivaled were given Tera types like the Dragon type to compliment their appearances or moves.

In addition to complimentary Tera types, each boss Pokemon was granted their Hidden Ability, which added an extra layer of challenge for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet trainers to consider. For example, Inteleon the Unrivaled's Sniper ability made its critical hits deal more damage than usual, and Hisuian Decidueye's Scrappy ability allowed it to hit Ghost-type Pokemon with Fighting-type attacks the latter would normally be immune to. The Natures of each Tera raid Pokemon were adjusted to further enhance the dominant statistics of a specific critter, with Primarina the Unrivaled having a Modest nature to bolster its high special attack stat even further at the cost of a lower physical attack stat.

What Abilities and Stats Do These Pokemon Have?

In short, a majority of the remaining Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Tera raid boss candidates lean heavily on high physical attack stats. Feraligatr's Sheer Force, Infernape's Iron Fist, and Emboar's Reckless abilities will allow these Pokemon to double down on physical attacks such as Wild Charge, Crunch, and Thunder Punch.

As for other hidden abilities, Torterra's Shell Armor was previously utilized by Samurott the Unrivaled and its Hisuian counterpart. While it can be a problem, Shell Armor can be removed via moves such as Skill Swap. Both Sceptile's Unburden and Swampert's Damp abilities would be too niche for most Pokemon Scarlet and Violet trainers to worry about, as most Tera raid bosses do not use held items, and self-destruct moves are generally frowned upon in Tera raids.

The lone non-physical attacker is Serperior, who is a more defensive Pokemon than the rest. However, Serperior is notorious for its hidden ability Contrary, which allows it to ramp up its special attack after using Leaf Storm and other attacks that would normally lower its stats.

As for Incineroar, both its hidden ability Intimidate, and versatile move set have allowed the Heel Pokemon to become one of the best Dark Pokemon in competitive battles. With the right Tera types to complement their attacks and hidden abilities, both Serperior and Incineroar are easily the biggest threats out of all the remaining Seven-Star Tera Raid candidates in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
