This past week, The Pokemon Company held a special showcase that highlighted a number of things coming to the series, with a lot of the presentation focused on the latest news for the next mainline titles, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. This extensive trailer included plenty of brand-new gameplay details, such as Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's new Terastal mechanic, covering certain Pokemon in crystals. Other new Pokemon were also shown off during this showcase, such as the doughy dog Pokemon Fidough, along with a regional variant of Wooper.

These mainline entries have gotten plenty of fans hyped, with all of this information giving other new details such as the many NPC trainers that players will find throughout the Paldea Region. There are a number of named NPC trainers such as the gym leaders who were introduced, such as the ice-type leader Grusha along with a few others that can be seen throughout. However, one part some fans may have missed is with a certain trainer class that can be seen spotting a reference to the Unova Region.

This detail was spotted by a user named DaddyClickbait on the r/pokemon subreddit, who shared that they had noticed a brand-new design for the Pokemaniac trainer class, a reoccurring NPC type that players can encounter. This trainer class has varied throughout the generations, but the one consistent aspect is that are huge in-universe Pokemon fanatics, with Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's incarnation showing that they are wearing a long-sleeved shirt with a familiar symbol. As the user pointed out, this symbol is the Pokestar Studios logo, which originated from Pokemon Black 2 and White 2.

Pokemon Scarlet Violet Easter Egg Pokestar Studios

Pokestar Studios was a location in the fifth generation's Unova Region, where players could take part in making films about Pokemon. This includes the player choosing a scenario and competing in a set of staged battles. Depending on the results of these battles however, the film can see a variety of outcomes, from the good ending to downright bizarre. This includes films about robotic Mecha kaiju Tyranitars to a giant woman.

The fan who spotted this Easter Egg was thrilled to see if, seeing it as a cool detail about the Unova Region thrown into Scarlet and Violet, making the universe feel connected. They note however this is likely only to be a reference, and isn't a hint about an upcoming Pokemon Legends-style game or remake of Pokemon Black and White or its sequels.

Pokemon Scarletand Violet release on November 18 for Nintendo Switch.
