Technical Machines, or TMs, were also revealed for the first time and for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, Game Freak appears to be reverting their functionality back to the older games in the series where they can only be used to teach a move once. While that fact may disappoint some fans, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet gets around this restriction by allowing players to craft their own TMs, instead of just earning them from fighting or finding them hidden around the world.

The process is fairly straightforward as players will visit specific locations, most likely a Pokemon Center, where they can interact with a station called the Technical Machine Machine. Using materials dropped by Pokemon after being defeated or captured and League Points, players can craft their own Technical Machines from an unlocked list. The left side shows which of the party Pokemon can use the TM while the right side displays the TM details as well as the Required Resources needed to make it. Better yet, players can even make as many copies as they need, provided they have the necessary resources.

While the trailer certainly had tons of new information for fans, a few eagle-eyed viewers seemingly picked up on some hidden details. Other fans discovered new and unannounced Pokemon thanks to the game's new minimap, which featured icons of what appears to be a white mouse and green parakeet style Pokemon.
