When looking at a Pokemon game, there are a few factors that kick off a young trainers' journey. First, there's the player's mother, who often kicks them out of the house with a pair of running shoes and a town map. After that, there's the rival to keep a player pushing to become the best like no one ever was. No Pokemon adventure could take place, though, without the aid of a Pokemon Professor, who are often the people who give the player their partner Pokemon in the mainline games. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet look to be no different with the inclusion of a Professor.

Well, from the recently released trailer for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, there is one major difference fans will notice between the Professors of the upcoming titles and those of past games. In Pokemon Scarlet andViolet, players are introduced to two Pokemon Professors, Turo and Sada. Previously, two Pokemon Professors have appeared in the same game, such as when Professor Oak visits Sinnoh in Gen 4, and in Gen 7, where Professor Kukui is married to the other Pokemon Professor Burnet.

However, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet seems to mark the first time two Professors will be introduced at the same time and share the limelight equally. Considering both Pokemon Professors feature with the same background in the new trailer, it is likely the player will meet them both at once. Sada and Turo both have different aesthetics, too. While both wear the traditional lab coat, Sada has feathers around the collar, while Turo seems to be wearing some sci-fi outfit under his coat.

The Professors also appear to be keeping with the plant name theme of previous Pokemon entries, which began with Professor Oak. Apart from those details, there wasn't much to gain from the small appearance of the new Professors in Scarlet and Violet. Shortly after their introductions, the new starters for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are shown. This links Sada and Turo to the traditional role of beginning the player's Pokemon journey, due to the fact that after meeting them it seems the player gets to pick their partner.

There were plenty of other elements shown off in the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet trailer, such as new Pokemon and the legendaries to be found in the games. The player's Pokemon trainer rival in Scarlet and Violet was also shown off, though like the Professors, they had a very short amount of time on screen, leading many to speculate about who these people are and what they will do in the future games.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet releases on November 18 for Nintendo Switch.
