Ahead of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's new trailer, a renowned and trustworthy leaker shared a list of each generation of Pokemon game's fan-favorite critters, stating that only one of them will be cut from Gen 9's Pokedex. This piece of information will likely help fans piece together the Paldean Pokedex after the major leaks from last week, where Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's list of returning monsters was deciphered from an image posted by Riddler Khu, a leaker with a proven track record.

Regarding the leaks, Riddler Khu has stated before that not all the old Pokemon from past generations will be available in Gen 9, which means that players can only hope that Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's DLC will remedy this issue to get a living Pokedex on the Switch. Even though some returning Pokemon will not be available to catch in the games, players will be given access to Pokemon Home transfers for some of them, including several Hisuian critters from Pokemon Legends: Arceus.

Today's tweet from Riddler Khu shares some precious insights into which fan-favorite Pokemon are confirmed to be part of Gen 9's Pokedex, as Khu listed eight critters, one from each generation of mainline games, and stated that only one of them won't be there. These Pokemon are Charizard from Gen 1, Umbreon from Gen 2, Gardevoir from Gen 3, Lucario from Gen 4, Chandelure from Gen 5, Greninja from Gen 6, Mimikyu from Gen 7, and Dragapult from Gen 8. Out of these, the only one that's been confirmed to be absent from Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is Chandelure.

As such, according to Khu, all the other seven pocket monsters will be featured in Gen 9, albeit some of them might be available from Pokemon Home exclusively, such as Greninja. This is great news for players who are looking forward to catching or transferring their favorite monsters in Gen 9, and it gives even more credibility to past Pokemon Scarlet and Violet leaks about the Pokedex of the Paldea region. Fans could also infer other important bits of information from this leak, such as that all of Eevee's evolutions are likely in the game, as well as the other Gen 6 starters, which have never been included in Switch games.

Charizard has been a staple of mainline games for a long time, and Pokemon like Lucario and Mimikyu saw a lot of use in competitive battles as well, alongside the newest entry of them all in the form of Dragapult. This could shake Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's meta months after launch, as many of these fan-favorite Pokemon are actually very powerful in battle, and they could have even more tricks up their sleeve thanks to Terastallization's type-changing mechanics.

Overall, while it's sad that Chandelure won't be in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, fans can still rejoice about the other power seven being in. This also leaves room for speculation about whether Ash-Greninja will become available on the Switch or remain relegated to Pokemon Home, but this is something only time will tell.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet launch on November 18, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
