Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are coming in three months, and despite the fact that they were announced all the way back in February, there have only been three official trailers for Gen 9 games. Even though the third trailer for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet revealed many things about the games, such as the Terastal phenomenon and how players will be able to use Koraidon and Miraidon outside of battles, what has been surprisingly scarce thus far is a focus on the new critters available. However, alleged leaks that appeared online claim that there will be many new Pokemon in Gen 9, and also a slew of additional forms and concepts.

An example comes from Riddler Khu's leaks concerning Paradox Pokemon in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, which are seemingly creatures from other generations that will get an ancient or future form when they time travel to the Paldea region. Another interesting concept that Riddler Khu talked about is that of the so-called regional fakes. According to the leaker, regional fakes are completely new Pokemon that each have their own Pokedex entry, but they have some features from existing pocket monsters, such as their face.

Today, Khu shared tweets hinting at some major boss battles in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, with the critters involved possibly being similar to Totem Pokemon from Gen 7 or Alpha Pokemon from Pokemon Legends: Arceus. One of these boss battles will be against an earthworm Pokemon that was seemingly included in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's June trailer, although the pocket monster was only shown as moving underground.

The second boss battle will be against a crab Pokemon, and it too was leaked before. Lastly, although Khu didn't provide additional clues for this encounter, there will also be a battle against a Pokemon that has links to a lake. Because the earthworm Pokemon appears to be near one of the four towers scattered across the Paldea region, it's possible that Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will feature a total of four of these battles, and they will probably be associated with the mysterious towers to some degree.

Recently, Riddler Khu also hinted at a Minecraft-like salt Pokemon for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, which could be a creature with pixelated characteristics, or tied to the popular game in some other way. As it stands, Gen 9 sounds very promising in terms of how many new critters it will include, and it's also interesting to see some form of boss battle return to the franchise.

PokemonScarlet and Violet release on November 18, 2022, for the Nintendo Switch.
