A new partnership between GameStop and The Pokemon Company will allow gamers to snatch a unique Tera-type Pokemon in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet by using a special code. Tera-type Pokemon in Scarlet and Violet are normally caught in raids or found wandering around Paldea in rare random encounters, but this opportunity will allow players to gain access to a limited version of this creature.
Released by the end of 2022, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet were a huge hit. While initially criticized for having a few bugs and performance issues, the developers worked hard to improve the experience over time, and the games became well-accepted. So far, Scarlet and Violet sold over 22.66 million units, becoming some of the best-selling titles of the franchise.
Now, The Pokemon Company has announced a giveaway of an Electric-Type Mimikyu for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, which will be distributed via codes given by GameStop. This is part of a Halloween celebration promoted by the companies, which will be happening until October, and will give out this unique creature via Mystery Gift. Only players who are based in Canada and the United States can participate in the giveaway, and it’s not 100% clear what the rules of the promotion are yet, or what possible limitations on using the code there may be. So, Pokemon fans should wait for more information soon.
This is not the only time that Mimikyu will be featured during this Halloween, though. The creature will also be the star of the upcoming special Halloween-themed Pokemon cards. These new cards are part of the Halloween Jazwares calendar box, which will also have miniatures of the little Pikachu-like ghost.
Mimikyu originally appeared in the seventh generation and is a Ghost/Fairy-type Pokemon that can normally be captured in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet in both its normal and Tera-type forms. However, the only Tera Mimikyu available in Scarlet and Violet right now is a Fairy-type version that can be found in North Province Area Two, so this Electric version will be exclusive.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet fans have a lot to be excited about right now besides this Halloween promotion. The upcoming The Teal Mask DLC, which will be the first of two expansions, will be released soon. The Teal Mask will bring several new options for players, including new TMs, and more customization. New TMs will include Burning Jealousy, Grassy Glide, Lash Out, Poltergeist, and Toxic, which will give gamers more options when fighting.
