Highlights

  • Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are bringing back five-star Tera Raid battles against Blissey, giving players a chance to earn valuable rewards.
  • These battles usually precede tougher challenges or provide a break for trainers.
  • Defeating Blissey in the Tera raid will reward players with items like Rare Candy, Tera Shards, and vitamins to prepare their teams for future battles.

With the Tera raids against Decidueye the Unrivaled coming to a close, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet announced the return of five-star Tera Raid battles against Blissey. This next round of Tera raids will give Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players another chance to get valuable rewards for building teams, such as Rare Candy and Tera Shards of different types.

Previous battles against Blissey have usually preceded seven-star Tera raids, or have been used to give Pokemon Scarlet and Violet trainers a breather after a tough challenge. In the case of Decidueye the Unrivaled, the seven-star Tera raid battle against the Hisuian Grass Pokemon tested trainers that were not used to battling fast physical attackers. With moves such as Triple Arrows, Leaf Blade, Shadow Claw, and Brave Bird, Hisuian Decidieye forced players to use Pokemon Violet exclusives such as Iron Moth and Ceruledge in order to match Decidueye blow for blow. However, that will not be the case with the next set of Tera raids.

For a limited time, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players can visit GameStop to get a special Mimikyu with a unique Tera type.

According to Serebii.net, Blissey will appear in five-star Tera raid dens from Thursday, October 19, at 8:00 p.m. Eastern, until Sunday, October 22, at 7:59 p.m. Eastern. The last time that Blissey appeared in Tera raid dens was in August, as part of a two-part series of Tera raid battles to prepare Pokemon trainers for Mewtwo the Unrivaled. As before, Blissey can have any Tera-type. It will also likely use moves such as Seismic Toss and Softboiled to deal fixed damage and heal itself as needed. Defeating Blissey will reward Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players with some items such as Rare Candy, Tera Shards that correspond to the boss' Tera-type, and vitamins such as Carbos and Calcium. All of these items can be used to build Pokemon teams and get them ready for competitive battling or for future Tera raids.

Known as the Happiness Pokemon, Blissey is considered one of the best special defenders in the entire Pokemon series. While it has ridiculous HP and special defense stats, it is offset by its abysmal physical defenses. A strong, physical Pokemon such as Okidogi or Ursaluna will make short work of Blissey, depending on Blissey's Tera type.

The return of Blissey to Tera raid battles comes as the impending release of The Indigo Disk DLC for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet draws closer. While Blissey will only be available for three days, it remains to be seen what future Tera raid battles will follow in the near future.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are available now for Nintendo Switch.
