A Pokemon fan created regional variants and even new final forms for several of the legendary series' monsters. The artist has impressed fellow fans in the past by sharing other original designs.

Introduced in the franchise's seventh generation, regional forms, also known as regional variants, are versions of some species in Pokemon that have developed different appearances and types due to their environments. The games have so far introduced these kinds of designs for the Alolan, Galarian, Hisuian, and Paldean territories, with more than 50 Pokemon having regional forms. One artist has conceptualized several more Pokemon regional variants and shared the creations online.

It's going to take quite a lot of frequent flyer miles to find all these Pokemon.

In a recent post on the Pokemon subreddit, user SayuriKoopa presented original regional forms of Tinkatink, Tinkatuff, Tinkaton, Vanillite, Vanillish, Munna, Musharna, Larvitar, Pupitar, Tyranitar, Swirlix, Slurpuff, and Flittle. They also thought of completely new final evolutions for Vanillite and Flittle called Shalluxe and Cosmeta, respectively. SayuriKoopa did not specify the home regions of their designs, but many of these forms would not look out of place in either Galar or Hisui, which are considered to be some of the best regions in the entire Pokemon franchise.

Community members praised SayuriKoopa's ideas, with one commenter claiming that the custom regional forms followed Pokemon's design principles. The artist has received similar compliments for their past works. In April, SayuriKoopa showed off Fairy-type regional forms for several Pokemon species, including Fidough, Applin, and Cottonee. They shared some original evolutions at the time, too, like a Fairy/Dark-type final form of Snorunt called Hoodlay.

New Regional Forms in Future Pokemon Games

More official regional forms could be introduced in Pokemon Legends: Z-A, the next mainline project of the franchise's longtime primary developer, Game Freak. The game will take place in Kalos, a region that acted as the setting for the Generation 6 games, Pokemon X and Y. Specifically, Pokemon Legends: Z-A will be set in Lumiose City, which is based on the French capital of Paris. The upcoming title could feature modern regional Pokemon variants, taking the opposite route of Pokemon Legends: Arceus that went with designs.

Pokemon Legends: Z-A could be released in the later months of 2025, according to leakers. The Pokemon series' next generation, meanwhile, is rumored to come out in the following year. Fans have speculated that Generation 10 could be set in areas inspired by Italy or Australia. This generation may also expand on the multiplayer elements that were featured in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
