A talented Pokemon fan built a realistic-looking Mew doll. Introduced in Gen 1, Mew is a powerful Psychic-type Mythical Pokemon known for having cat-like features, fine pink fur, and the ability to float around its surroundings. Its DNA was also used to create the Legendary Pokemon Mewtwo.

Mew is a rare Pokemon that can typically only be acquired in endgame scenarios or special events. In Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, players were able to claim a free Mew through a mystery code, adding it to their Paldean roster. This Mythical Pokemon would also prove useful in the 7-star Tera Raid against the powerful Mewtwo.

Mew's popularity within the Pokemon community is partly because of its adorable design. Many fans have dedicated fan art to it, including Reddit user umbratundra, who built an incredible, realistic doll based on the Pokemon. In a minute-long video, they shared the week-long process of 3D printing Mew's head and body, attaching the pink fur, and putting all the elements together. The final result showed the Mew doll attached to a tree branch to showcase its tail's functionality. The Reddit user also uploaded the step-by-step process on their YouTube channel for those who want to create their own Mew doll.

Many Pokemon fans in the comments praised umbratundra's creation and skill, and also expressed interest in purchasing the Mew doll if it was for sale. While the artist said they weren't doing commissions for dolls like these, interested buyers could bid for the Mew doll at a starting price of $1,200. Some fans also requested for other realistic Pokemon dolls to be made, which umbratundra said could be possible and that they might make Raichu next.

In the past, other fans got creative with realistic versions of various Pokemon, such as the Legendary Lugia, which was turned into a flying dragon straight out of medieval literature. This just shows how innovative Pokemon fans can be when it comes to crafting art based on their favorites. Plus, with over 1,000 Pokemon now revealed across nine generations, they have a ton of references for their work.

The latest mainline games, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, recently released the Teal Mask DLC, where players can participate in new missions and catch new Pokemon. They can also explore and discover the six wonders of the Kitakami region to receive special rewards. Meanwhile, the next DLC, titled Indigo Disk, is expected to drop later this year, so fans will have additional gameplay to get through.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are available for the Nintendo Switch.
