The Pokemon franchise stands as a media empire spanning across medium and genre. As the series continues to expand with new ventures like fashion and jewelry, including Pokemon themed engagement rings, it still sees immense success in traditional Pokemon toys.

With the release of Pokemon Sword and Shield's The Crown Tundra DLC, The Pokemon Company is opting to further capitalize by putting up a new toy for preorder. Takara Tomy, the popular Japanese Toy manufacturer, reveals a new toy accessory based on the mechanic introduced in the Pokemon Sword and Shield games.

The official Dynamax Band is based on the same in-game item used to transform Pokemon into their bigger variants. The band itself comes with two modes each bringing out a different aspect of the highly intense Pokemon Sword and Shield raids. The two options are "Dynamax Mode" and "Cheer Mode" with the latter playing  14 different phases from the Pokemon anime series characters of Ash, Goh, and Leon. The band even has functionality with the Japan only Pokemon Mezastar arcade game.

The Pokemon Sword and Shield Dynamax Band is available for pre-order now on Amazon Japan and is set to release on 11 February 2021. While usually items like this are tricky to get outside of Japan, with international shipping available it means trainers looking a cute toy, or even a cosplay accessory, are in luck. The current preorder price sits at just under 2000 yen which translates to $19.40 excluding what is likely to be a hefty shipping rate.

Between both the still heavy interest in Pokemon toys alongside the fanbase still playing Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield, the Dynamax Band Toy will likely be in high-demand. While the item does ship worldwide from Amazon, buyers should always be aware of possible fake toys up for sale from third-parties. After over 85,000 counterfeit Pokemon Toys were seized by United States Customs earlier this year, it seems the market is still big on counterfeits.
