Highlights

  • Pokemon fans love creating pre-evolutions like Dramby for unique creatures such as Drampa.
  • Drampa is a distinct Normal/Dragon-type Pokemon with a rare dual-type combination in the franchise.
  • Poetically_Imperfect's fan art of Dramby celebrates Drampa's debut in Pokemon GO during the Lunar New Year event.

A Pokemon fan has recently designed a pre-evolution for Drampa, giving it a baby form. Creating alternative Pokemon forms is a common practice in the franchise’s community, and pre-evolutions are one of the most popular kinds of fan art, especially due to how cute the results often are.

Drampa is a Normal/Dragon-type creature that first appeared in the seventh generation of Pokemon games, with Pokemon Sun and Moon. While far from being one of the most popular creatures in the franchise, Drampa is certainly unique. For example, its dual-type combination is pretty distinct, and the only creature to share the same two types is Cyclizar, which was recently introduced in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

Pokemon Fan Designs Paradox Form for Gyarados

One creative fan artist from the Pokemon community shares their design of a Paradox variant of Gyarados inspired by various ancient Paradox Pokemon.

Now, a Pokemon player called Poetically_Imperfect has created a pre-evolution for Drampa called Dramby. The new form turns Drampa into a baby while maintaining its overall design, including its fluffy fur and the size of its nose. Drampa’s original appearance was greatly inspired by mythological Chinese dragons, and it used mostly blueish-green colors. Its baby version, however, does not have a long neck anymore, and its whole body is very small. Poetically_Imperfect also designed a shiny version for Dramby, which is yellow instead of green.

Baby Drampa Pokemon Fan Art

The fan art created by Poetically_Imperfect was made in commemoration of the appearance of Drampa in Pokemon GO. The creature was recently added to the popular mobile game during Pokemon GO’s Lunar New Year event, which happened between February 5 and 11 and celebrated the Chinese New Year.

This pre-evolution of Drampa is not the only time someone created an amazing baby Pokemon fan art recently, though. Last month, another artist decided to give a baby form to Smeargle. The pre-evolution of Smeargle was called Linearf, and was considerably cute, essentially looking like a small Smeargle-shaped puppy with a very short tail that was used as a paintbrush.

Another amazing example of pre-evolution was a baby Heracross Pokemon fan art made last year. This was a very interesting artwork considering that Heracross does not possess any evolutions aside from a Mega Evolution. The baby Heracross looked like a tiny beetle standing on four legs with a very small and undeveloped antenna, and it was quite popular in the Pokemon community. Hopefully, new designs such as Dramby will inspire Pokemon fans to continue creating great-looking fan art, be they pre-evolutions like these ones, Paradox forms, regional variants, or other kinds of Fakemon.
