A creative Pokemon fan is showing their love for both the franchise itself and Halloween by carving a jack-o-lantern featuring Pikachu. As the eerie holiday approaches, it's no surprise that many a Pokemon fan are crafting spooky fan art pieces inspired by their favorite characters, and yet amid all the creations, this Pikachu jack-o-lantern has already managed to draw attention.

With it virtually always having been the mascot of the franchise itself, Pikachu is almost inarguably the most recognizable Pokemon of all time. Part of the original generation of Pokemon, Pikachu is an Electric-type best known for being Ash Ketchum's main Pokemon and companion throughout the long-running anime series. The focus of numerous games and spinoff titles, the fan-favorite character is most recently featured in Detective Pikachu Returns, which is already in talks to receive additional spinoffs just weeks after its release.

The impressive pumpkin carving comes from a user on Reddit named StopFlaming, who posted their Halloween creation to one of the site's primary Pokemon forums. The jack-o-lantern features a full silhouette of Pikachu, with one foot raised along with both arms pointing upward. Pikachu's various facial features have been carved out as well, including his eyes, nose, mouth, and signature red cheeks. The entire shape of Pikachu lies within a circular frame, creating a bright orange backdrop. A second photo in the post shows the jack-o-lantern from farther away, evoking a more sinister vibe.

Pokemon fan reception to the post appears to be universally positive, with the Pikachu jack-o-lantern getting several dozen upvotes within just a few hours of being posted. One observant fan even pointed out that the cut-out on the top of the pumpkin makes it appears as if it's a Gigantamax Pikachu.

The Pikachu jack-o-lantern is certainly impressive, but it isn't the first time a Pokemon fan has had the idea. Another fan made headlines around the same time last year with their Pikachu jack-o-lantern they made for a pumpkin carving contest. The carving is vastly different from the one featured above, with the fan essentially carving the entire pumpkin to be Pikachu's head. The two wildly different interpretations are a testament to the breadth of creativity the Pokemon fandom continuously demonstrates.

Pokemon fans aren't the only ones getting ready for Halloween, as several Pokemon titles are now featuring seasonal spooky content. Both Pokemon GO and Pokemon Sleep have events going on or coming soon, and Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's Halloween Tera Raid was just announced, giving Pokemon fans plenty to do to get into the holiday spirit.
