  • Fans discuss potential abilities and strategies for the Mega Chandelure.
  • Mega Evolutions are absent in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet but teased for Legends: Arceus.

A Pokemon fan has shared their idea for what a Mega Evolution of Chandelure could look like, if it were to get one. With few Mega Evolutions available in the official Pokemon games, the fans often fill in the gaps, imagining what would happen if their favorites got the same treatment.

Mega Evolutions were introduced in Pokemon X and Y, and have occasionally returned, but haven't been present in every game. Due to the extremely large number of Pokemon, it's unlikely that every creature will see a Mega Evolution added to its family tree. There's nothing stopping fans from filling in the blanks for themselves, though, like this prolific Pokemon fan artist.

Pokemon Fan Creates Realistic Version of Sprigatito

A Pokemon lover shared an incredible realistic illustration of the Paldea starter Sprigatito, impressing fans with their creativity and skills.

Pokemon fan Matratzfratz shared their idea for what Mega Chandelure would look like with fellow fans on Reddit. In its Mega form, Chandelure has shifted away from looking like an overhead hanging chandelier to a stationary floor lamp. Its head has split into three identical parts. Despite its name implying a chandelier, it looks more akin to an overgrown candelabra or even a fancy street light. It's an interesting and plausible concept for how Chandelure could change if it were lucky enough to Mega Evolve in a future Pokemon game.

Fans have been positive about the Mega version of Chandelure. One suggested that if the Pokemon were used with Trick Room, it would move extremely fast, as it looks as though it's completely stationary and would ordinarily have a low speed stat as a result. Another fan commented in response, talking about how terrifying it would be to have a seemingly harmless lamp post suddenly move and teleport in front of a person. One wondered if it would actually have a slow speed stat, as the Pokemon might float instead.

Revived Interest in Mega Evolutions

Pokemon didn't have Mega Evolutions in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, as it introduced new concepts of its own. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet included Terastal Pokemon and convergent species, which provided their own unique twist to the formula. However, Pokemon Mega Evolutions are back on the minds of fans, as they've been teased for the upcoming Pokemon Legends: Z-A. However, that game isn't set to launch until sometime in 2025, so there's plenty of time for creative fans like Matratzfratz to come up with their own concepts.

In the meantime, players will just have to hope that their favorites are lucky enough to be on the list of chosen Pokemon to get Mega Evolution upgrades from Game Freak. It will be interesting to see how the various fan concepts for Mega Evolutions compare to the eventual designs the official developer comes out with.
