This article contains details from episodes 76 and 77 of Pokemon Master Journeys (Part 3).

In this popular anime's 24th Season, Pokemon Master Journeys, fans were introduced to Goh and Chloe Cherise, as they accompany Ash and Pikachu along on their adventures. Unlike other seasons, Ash and his friends travel across all eight regions, inevitably bumping into some old friends along the way.

The last that viewers saw of Pokemon was in "A Midsummer Night's Light!" where fans were reunited with Dawn in the Sinnoh Region. The girls soon make friends, unbeknown to their connection through Ash, and help out an injured Cresselia. The boys, on the other hand, have their hands full dealing with a nightmare-inducing Darkrai, and the meddling Team Rocket of course. Netflix has since taken a short break before releasing Part 3 of Pokemon Master Journeys, which will be returning without much delay.

The next stop for these Pokemon trainers is back to the fan-favorite region of Alola Island in episode 76 titled "All Out, All of the Time!" The boys team up for the local Pokemon Catch Adventure Race, which involved catching a particular selection of Pokemon along three stages of the race.

Competing against the All-Out Brothers, Ash and Goh first capture an Alolan Geodude before Goh witnesses his first Z-Move experience. Naturally, Team Rocket cannot help but interfere, but this time the All-Out Brothers unexpectedly save the day with their Kommo-o. With two teams remaining, Ash and Goh race the brothers to the finish line in the hopes of claiming the title, along with enough malasadas to last a year.

What's Next for Ash and Goh?

Pokemon Journeys Ash, Volkner, Lucario and Luxray

As much as viewers would love to see more of the Alola Region, it appears that Ash and Goh may be heading out to the World Coronation Series battle against Volkner, Sinnoh's top Gym Leader. Like Ash, Volkner is in the Ultra Class, however he has a specific affinity for Electric-type Pokemon, and Volkner's defeat will assuredly not come easily to the Pokemon trainer.

It will be interesting to see there will be another Pikachu-Raichu match-up, although Lucario vs Luxray appear to be the highlight of their battle - but who will be victorious? Luckily, the next addition, "Excitement From the Ultra-Shocking Start!" is due for release on the same day as episode 76, so some binge-watching is definitely in order.

Many fans are disappointed that the storyline in the Alola Region may not be extended further than episode 76, particularly considering Goh's involvement this time around. An extended stay on the Alola Islands would have given Ash the perfect opportunity to teach his friend about Z-Moves, and introduce him to Lilly, Mallow, and the others.

Goh was surely also excited by the thought of expanding his collection with more Alola-form Pokemon, however, the opportunity doesn't seem to have presented itself at this time. Poor Goh will just have to be content with his new Alolan Geodude, Bruxish, and Passimian for now. Hopefully, the boys will have to return to the Alola Region again at some point in the World Coronation Series.

Pokemon Master Journeys Part 3 will air on Netflix in the US on 26 May 2022.
