The year 2002 was special for both Pokemon fans and Disney fans. For gamers, 2002 marked the release of Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire, the start of the franchise's third generation. For the fans of all things Disney, 2002 saw the release of Lilo and Stitch, an iconic film that many fans adored. Now, 20 years later, a fan of both Pokemon and Lilo and Stitch has brought the two together in rather detailed fan art.

Lilo and Stitch was a movie about how the titular characters met. For Lilo, all she wanted was to adopt a strange blue dog that could talk from the pound. However, this "blue dog" was actually an experimental alien creation who had fled from the Galactic Federation's custody. In the movie's sequel and following TV series, Lilo and Stitch became a franchise dedicated to Stitch's "cousins," the other 625 experiments made before him. While the Disney film featured a story that was a hit with viewers, it was also fondly remembered for using the unique art style of one of its directors, Chris Sanders.

In tribute to Sanders' work, an artist known as Troytheartboy has shared artworks reimagining fan-favorite Pokemon almost as if they're Stitch's cousins. The fan art pieces see Vaporeon, Sylveon, Flareon, Squirtle, Vulpix, Eevee, Gilgar, and the mythical Pokemon Jirachi adapted to fit into the film with so much detail that fans may wish for an animation in the same style someday.

In the comments, fans are adoring the artwork, stating that the artist is "too good" at emulating the style of the classic Disney movie. Others have used the post to suggest future additions that Troytheartboy could draw in the future, such as Ditto.

Once fans get to see the art for themselves, it's very clear why fans of both the film and the Pokemon games are fawning over Troytheartboy's work. It's also not very hard for players to figure out which of the experiments have inspired which designs, such as Vaporeon and Sylveon looking rather reminiscent of Stitch and Angel in particular.

Some fans have asked if the artist plans to use the artwork for anything, and Troytheartboy has revealed that they plan to sell stickers featuring the crossover designs. For those interested in taking these stickers home, they may want to find Troytheartboy's Instagram under the same name to purchase these cute Pokemon stickers once they're made available.
