The surprise reveal of Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu and Let’s Go Eevee has Nintendo fans eagerly awaiting November, so that they can revisit the Kanto region with a fresh coat of paint and updated Pokemon GO-inspired mechanics. The game will see trainers revisiting many familiar locations, so it will be very interesting to see how similar or different those areas are from the original games and Yellow.

Obviously technology has come a long way since Red/Blue/Yellow, and that is really going to be clear for trainers who remember playing through Yellow back in the day. The first trailer for Pokemon Let's Go offered a sneak peek at some iconic spots from the old game, but they may have been easy to miss for more casual fans.

Luckily, one dedicated fan has stitched together some side by side comparisons to show which part of the original map each piece of new gameplay footage lines up with. Here's a look at the images...

Although the Switch may not be as powerful as the Xbox One or PS4, it's obviously got enough horsepower to make the leap from Yellow to Let's Go look amazing. The upcoming game seems to do a fantastic job recapturing classic locations and making them feel fresh and new.

As more information and gameplay footage is revealed between now and November, we'll continue to scour the assets for comparisons to Yellow. Check back for more news and updates!

Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu and Let’s Go Eevee will launch on November 16, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
