The new Pokemon Pass mobile app is out now, shortly after being leaked by Target, and Pokemon Let's Go players can use it to obtain either shiny Pikachu or shiny Eevee. There are a few steps involved, however, so for those wanting to add the shiny to their collection, here is everything to know and do.

First, it's worth highlighting that this is a limited time event, running from May 11 to June 23, and will require Pokemon Let's Go players to visit a nearby Target. Players should also be aware that they will receive the Pokemon opposite of their game's mascot, so Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu players will receive a shiny Eevee and Pokemon Let's Go Eevee players will get a shiny Pikachu. And finally, players will need the aforementioned Pokemon Pass app, which can be downloaded for either Android or iOS devices.

To use the app, Pokemon Let's Go players will also need a Pokemon Trainer Club account, which they can create on the official Pokemon website. Once all these preliminary steps are complete, visit a participating Target store and find the Pokemon merchandise on the toy and video game aisles. There should be a sign with a QR code that players scan for a serial code, which can then be copied over to either game.

To redeem the serial code, Pokemon Let's Go players will need to open the Mystery Gift menu from the main menu. Choose receive and the type out the serial code. Afterward, players will be able to pick their Pokemon up from the deliveryman in the Pokemon center. Each will be level 10 and know four moves. Pikachu will know Thunderbolt, Double Kick, Double Team, and Thunder. Eevee will know Double-Edge, Iron Tail, Helping Hand, and Facade.

Beyond Pokemon Let's Go, it also seems likely that this app will eventually feature some bonuses for Pokemon GO. For now, Pokemon GO has a Detective Pikachu event underway, so it's a good time to be a Pokemon fan. Just be sure to act quickly to claim shiny Pikachu or Eevee before the Pokemon Let's Go event times out in June.

Pokemon Let's Go is available now, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
