Nintendo and The Pokemon Company hosted a special presentation called Pokemon Presents that unveiled a slew of new information on upcoming games in the Pokemon franchise. However, the presentation ended with the announcement that another Pokemon Presents will be taking place on June 24. Nothing is known about what next week's event will entail beyond that it will feature a "big project" for the franchise. That could be just about anything, but some fans think that it will be a Pokemon Let's Go Gold and Let's Go Silver announcement.

The reason why fans have come to this conclusion is due to what sat behind The Pokemon Company CEO Tsunekazu Ishihara at the end of the Pokemon Presents event. The shelf behind him is almost exclusively made up of Pokemon Gold and Silver plushies, not to mention a copy of Pokemon Let's Go Eevee with Umbreon and Espeon plushies sitting in front of it. The latter is perhaps the most damning evidence in favor of a Pokemon Let's Go Gold and Let's Go Silver announcement, with some taking this to mean that the featured Pokemon will be the popular Eevee evolutions Espeon and Umbreon.

Of course, the Pokemon announcement coming next week could be just about anything. It may have something to do with more Pokemon Sword & Shield DLC, or maybe it's a new Pokemon movie announcement. Whatever the case may be, fans will just need to tune in on June 24 to find out.

Pokemon Let's Go Gold Silver

If Nintendo and The Pokemon Company have another big Pokemon announcement up their sleeve, it's a bit strange that they didn't make the announcement as part of today's presentation. However, perhaps the companies didn't want whatever next week's announcement is to overshadow the reveals from today. For those that didn't tune in, a number of major Pokemon franchise announcements were made at the Pokemon Presents event, including the reveal of New Pokemon Snap for the Switch.

The New Pokemon Snap Switch announcement was easily the biggest reveal of the event, but some other exciting news was announced as well. For example, it was confirmed that the popular augmented reality mobile game Pokemon GO will be getting Mega Evolutions at some point in the future, which should shake things up quite a bit.

While Pokemon fanatics wait for more news on next week's big event, they can check out the Isle of Armor expansion for Sword and Shield, which is available now.
