Most Pokemon in the Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu and Let's Go Eevee games will evolve after getting a certain amount of XP and hitting a specific level. However, some Pokemon have different evolution requirements, like needing an evolution stone in order to evolve them to their next stage.

Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu and Let's Go Eevee have six evolution stones available in the games, including the Ice Stone, which is making its Kanto region debut. Luckily, getting evolution stones in the game is actually pretty easy if players know where to look.

The following evolution stones can be purchased at the shop in Celadon City for $5,000 a pop:

  • Fire Stone
  • Ice Stone
  • Leaf Stone
  • Thunder Stone
  • Water Stone

The Fire Stone can be used to evolve Eevee, Vulpix, and Growlithe. The Leaf Stone is used to evolve Exeggcute, Gloom, and Weepinbell. The Thunder Stone, meanwhile, is used to evolve Pikachu and Eevee. The Water Stone is used to evolve Staryu to Starmie, Eevee to Vaporeon, Poliwhirl to Poliwrath, and Shellder to Cloyster. It's worth pointing out that the player's starter Pikachu or Eevee can't be evolved, so if players want Raichu or one of the Eeveelutions, they will have to find another Pikachu or Eevee out in the wild.

And finally, the Ice Stone is used to evolve Alolan Vulpix into Alolan Ninetails and Alolan Sandshrew into Alolan Sandslash. Of course, players will have to get their hands on an Alolan Vulpix or Alolan Sandshrew first. The easiest method is to simply transfer an Alolan Vulpix or Alolan Sandshrew to the Pokemon Let's Go games from Pokemon GO, though players can also trade with NPCs in the game to get Alolan Pokemon as well.

The only evolution stone that players can't purchase in Celadon City is the Moon Stone, which is a bit trickier to find. To get a Moon Stone in Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu and Let's Go Eevee, players will need to search the craters of Mt. Moon. Their starter Pokemon will indicate when a hidden item is nearby by wagging their tail, and if players are lucky, the hidden item in question will be a Moon Stone, which is used to evolve Clefairy, Jigglypuff, Nidorina, and Nidorino. Players can get one Moon Stone per real world day using this method, and they'll want at least four if they plan on evolving all of the Pokemon they can with it.

Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu and Let's Go Eevee is out now, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
