While exploring the world of Hisui, Pokemon Legends: Arceus players will occasionally receive a message at the top of their screen informing them that a space-time distortion appears to be forming. When this happens, they should stop what they're doing and look around for what appears to be a giant orb of electricity forming somewhere nearby. Much like there is at the of a rainbow, there's gold at the end of those lightning bolts.

Space-time distortions are a great way to capture rare Pokemon as well as getting one's hands on some of Pokemon Legends: Arceus' most valuable and hard-to-find items. They'll need a fairly well-leveled team at their disposal, however, as all of the Pokemon that they'll encounter inside these distortions will be very high level, particularly for those who are just starting out their adventure.

How to Activate a Space-Time Distortion

Immediately after receiving the message about a space-time distortion forming, players should make their way over to the giant glowing bubble. They'll be able to head inside it straight away, but it may take a little bit of time for the true distortion to actually appear. Typically, this will be somewhere between 30 seconds and five minutes, though for most it will be around the three-minute mark.

Players may be tempted to save their game after a space-time distortion begins to form and then reload if they don't get the Pokemon or items that they want. This is a bad idea, however, as space-time distortions will disappear if players end their playing session or leave the area. As such, they won't be there when players reload.

It doesn't matter if players wait inside or outside the bubble, only that they wait for a message to appear on the screen mentioning that the space-time distortion has now appeared. Once this happens, they should get inside the bubble if they aren't already and then get started on collecting items and catching Pokemon right away. Space-time distortions typically last around five minutes (excluding battle time), after which, things will return to normal. At the time of writing, there is no known way to make a space-time distortion form.

What's Inside a Space-Time Distortion?

Players can expect to find rare and high-level Pokemon like Alakazam and Gengar inside space-time distortions, all of which will behave aggressively towards them. They'll attack players on sight, making it important to dodge often, and will regularly team up on the player's Pokemon in battle. An Eevee will usually spawn in towards the end of each distortion too, while the game's starter Pokemon and their evolutions will begin to appear once players have completed the main story.

The HP of a wild Pokemon won't be refilled if players run away from it and then start battling it again soon after. Players can therefore exploit this to quickly heal up their team as they gradually chip away at a high-level Pokemon's health.

As well as rare Pokemon, players will also be able to find a huge selection of rare and valuable items inside space-time distortions. These include Nuggets, Star Fragments, and Colored Shards, as well as Evolution Stones and Items. For those whose Pokemon aren't strong enough to deal with the Pokemon in the distortion, it's therefore advised to run around dodging attacks and collecting items rather than risk having their team wiped out in battle and being forced to return to camp.
