Earlier this year, fans were treated to the official release of Pokemon Legends: Arceus, which is considered to be one of the biggest shake-ups to the series formula yet. The gameplay overhauls required to utilize an open-world provide a breath of fresh air from the mainline games, with players getting to focus on the exploration side of Pokemon as opposed to just training and battling. Pokemon Legends: Arceus still has the same emphasis on catching Pokemon, though this time they are focusing on ancient Hisuian versions of well known Pokemon.

Despite this emphasis on what certain Pokemon looked like in the past, there are still some recognizable creatures that have been unaltered. This includes the likes of Rapidash, Luxray, and Scyther. One Pokemon that is also available to catch in Legends: Arceus is Unown, a Pokemon that is rarely spotlighted in the mainline games. These are alphabet and character symbol shaped creatures that have some apparent ties to Arceus itself, though it's never been stated what the connection is.

Despite it being a rather useless Pokemon on its own, there are 28 of them to catch in the game, with all of them essentially forming an aesthetic alphabet. Most players would be content with catching one of each to complete their collection, but one user went above and beyond and caught an entire collection of Shiny Unown. This achievement was posted to the Pokemon Legends: Arceus subreddit by u/xenofan293, where they showed off a complete pasture of all 28 Unowns, all of which were shiny.

According to the user, they used the Wyrdeer ride Pokemon to run up to the ruins in Crimson Mirelands and warp back down to the village, which provided an easy way to farm for Unown encounters. The warping back to the village also allowed for the game to activate a massive outbreak, which would increase the chances of getting shiny Pokemon in an encounter. One tip the player provides is to also stand in the center of the ruins for around 2 seconds.

This shiny Unown dex was completed after the gamer had hunted for the final alpha Pokemon in their playthrough, a Shieldon in the Distortions. They state that there were only eight shiny Pokemon left to capture natively, though some of them are distortion-exclusive Pokemon. In their attempts to complete the shiny Unown dex, they ended up with 66 extra shinies, reaching a total of 94 - something that almost allowed them to have 2 full sets of shiny Unown.

Pokemon Legends: Arceus is available for the Nintendo Switch.
