While the initial selling point was that it was Pokemon with guns, Palworld seems to be so much more than that, which is why it has already amassed a massive playerbase. And because of its success, Nintendo may want to emulate it for its next adventure.

Right now, it seems like Nintendo could be considering legal action against Palworld for its similarities to Pokemon. But instead of pushing the game out, it should consider adopting some of its features for the next Pokemon Legends. That game took the Pokemon concept to new heights, and its eventual sequel will need to take it even further. To accomplish that, it may be smart for the studio to imitate its own imitation.

Palworld Seems to Already Be a More Advanced Version of Legends

Just like with Pokemon Legends: Arceus, Palworld has thrown players into a massive open world filled to the brim with adorable creatures to collect. Players must explore every corner of this world, gather resources to build their own Pal spheres and grow a collection of Pals so that they can accomplish their goals. While the focus may not be on filling out a Pokedex, much of that core gameplay loop feels ripped straight from Pokemon Legends. But the game takes the concept a step further than that.

Not only are players supposed to be collecting and raising all sorts of Pals during their journey, but Palworld also tasks them with doing all the classic survival game things. They have to build a base, gather resources, level up their equipment, and progress down a tech tree of sorts. Additionally, they must take on increasingly hard bosses to progress further through this world. The best part is that this can be done solo or with up to 32 other players on dedicated servers.

All of that makes for a gameplay experience that many will not soon forget. Players will likely spend hours engaging in all sorts of shenanigans as they venture across the great unknown with their friends. As more Palworld updates come out, there will be even more things for them to mess around with, including some PvP action. As long as these updates can keep up the quality of this initial release, then players may have little reason to leave.

The Next Pokemon Legends Could Do A Lot With Palworld's Many Gameplay Mechanics

So far, Palworld has been a great experience for fans of Pokemon and survival games alike. Because of its success, Nintendo may want to consider adopting a feature or two for whenever the next Pokemon Legends hits store shelves. Specifically, it may want to take the survival mechanics and base building for a spin so that it can create a Pokemon game unlike any other.

Pokemon Legends: Arceus was an interesting experiment, but it only took the concept so far. The studio had the open world and the more free-form gameplay; however, everything else felt incredibly limited. There was no way to meaningfully interact with the environment, the town was pretty static, and there was not much to do outside of collecting Pokemon. But if it gave players the ability to construct their very own base, then they would have so much more to do. Additionally, tossing in survival mechanics would give them something to constantly strive for besides completing their Pokedex.

Survival mechanics and base-building are not the only things that Pokemon Legends could take from Palworld, they are just the most obvious. The studio could also give players far more things to craft, give Pokemon more functionality, and toss on a multiplayer mode so that players can explore the world together. While many of these features will probably not wind up in a Pokemon game for a while (if ever), the success of Palworld makes it feel like the perfect time to shake things up a bit.
