Thinking of where the next Pokemon Legends: Arceus game goes is becoming more and more of a pastime since its launch. While new DLC for Pokemon Legends: Arceus is expected in April, the idea of another game in the subseries is even more tantalizing. It has yet to be confirmed, but with its success, it definitely seems like it will happen eventually.
Whether the next game goes back to Kanto/Johto in a Pokemon Legends game or continues on from Gen 4 to Gen 5’s Unova, imagining how this formula could be applied to new areas and new Pokemon is unique. For Kalos, it may seem more straightforward, but it has a lot of options.
The Kalos Region in a Pokemon Legends Game
Pokemon X and Y are arguably some of the darkest games in the franchise, as it refers back to an ancient war and a powerful weapon that used the life force of Pokemon to fuel. A former king of Kalos, AZ, who invented this weapon, paid a price far too high for all of this. So, with all of this happening around 3,000 years ago, when it is set could be tied to this war. No matter what, assuming Xerneas and Yveltal play a major role in the plot, it could add new context to that war.
Again, depending on how far back in the past it is, there are plenty of areas that could use Pokemon Legends’ approach to "remaking." The Pokemon village, the Poke Ball factory (perhaps less of a factory at the time), Snowbelle City, Azure Bay, the various caves, Anistar City, the huge Pokemon League, and far more. How Pokemon Legends would redo these areas, as well as make them more antique and open, would be fun to see, but overall, the general landscape may be very similar to Hisui in Pokemon Legends: Arceus.
Kalos Pokemon Who Deserve New Regional Variants
Undoubtedly, one of the best aspects of Pokemon Legends: Arceus are the older Pokemon who were given a new form in the game. While some may debate how well Scyther’s new evolution, Kleavor, is done, it speaks to the evolution of the Pokemon in that there are evolutionary lines that have disappeared. Of course, Scyther is much older in terms of the franchise than the Gen 4 games, but assuming some Kalos Pokemon got that same approach, there are quite a few that are deserving. Not to mention, Pokemon X and Y introduce fewer new Pokemon than practically all generations, and so it’s more likely that there would be a wider selection of changes here.
Pyroar is a good choice for a new form and perhaps a new typing, creating another more standard Lion Pokemon (not a legendary like Solgaleo). It could follow in Growlithe and Arcanine’s footsteps in terms of role too. Pangoro and Furfrou are another good option, as Pangoro’s design could go a number of ways, and Furfrou in a more wild environment would reasonably look quite different. Aegislash would be another good pick, based on how the war impacted this Pokemon.

Pokemon Legends Endgame in the Kalos Region
Without a doubt, Pokemon Legends: Arceus’ approach to the endgame was incredibly fun, and it’s likely to be replicated in future Pokemon Legends titles. Kalos, however, is particularly challenged here—as the game that introduced fewer Pokemon than others. Indeed, Pokemon X and Y only feature Xerneas, Yveltal, Zygarde, Mewtwo, Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres. Mewtwo is also already an odd one out, unless it explains its time travel or something.
A Pokemon Legends game set in Kalos could theoretically introduce new Legendary Pokemon, filling in the endgame, or it could bring in other Pokemon from other regions. Based on the Kalos-Galar War, it would make sense to bring in some of its legendaries—but obviously not the mascots—but ultimately how a Pokemon Legends: Kalos game approached its endgame would be interesting to see.
