As players make their way through Pokemon Legends: Arceus, they'll have various sidequests to keep them busy. The sidequests mechanic unlocks after the player character has received their Survey Corps uniform and embarked on Mission 4: Getting to Work on Research Tasks. Some sidequests will unlock another sidequest, so it's important to do each one - especially to earn some rewards.

One of the Requests in Pokemon Legends: Arceus follows an NPC named Morel. He gives out a Request as early as the Obsidian Fieldlands before making a return at the Alabaster Icelands, which is the final area players unlock. Request 76: Mushroom Hunting with Swinub is the final Request that Morel will ask of players. Fortunately, it's a simple task for those who've yet to complete it.

Unlock Requirements for Request 76

The easy-to-miss requirement for unlocking Request 76 is by neglecting Request 33: What A Massive Mushroom!. Request 33 unlocks after catching a Parasect. Whether this means evolving a Paras or catching a Parasect in the wild doesn't matter. Those that are looking to challenge the level 30 Alpha Parasect at Nature's Pantry in the Obsidian Fieldlands can have this Request done fairly early in Legends: Arceus' story. After Request 33, Morel will have another Request for players after the following:

  1. Unlocking the Alabaster Icelands (i.e: start Mission 12: The Slumbering Lord of the Tundra).
  2. Catching a Swinub (found in the Alabaster Icelands)

Once this is complete, go to Laventon's Office and pick up Request 76 on the blackboard. Instead of speaking to Morel at his house, Morel will be at the Alabaster Icelands at the edge of Heart's Crag. Make sure to have a Swinub in the party before speaking to him. Players can track the Request on the map by press (+), Y-button, and then selecting Request 76 with A-button. This will put a marker where Morel can be found.

How to Complete Request 76

In case players neglected to have a Swinub in their lineup, return to a base camp and swap out one of the Pokemon for Swinub. There are also plenty of Swinub crawling around Bonechill Wastes and Avalugg's Legacy, as well as a level 62 Alpha Swinub. It doesn't matter what type players end up catching so long as they just have one in the party.

By speaking to Morel, he'll mark three different locations in Heart's Crag for Swinub to sniff out. Two out of three of these spots will dig up the mushrooms that Morel is looking for without a problem. One of the spots will have a Snover, which is a Grass/Ice-type. Thanks to Swinub's Ground-typing, it has a weakness to Grass-type moves despite its Ice-typing having an advantage over Grass-types. Thus, players might not want to have Swinub at the front of their lineup. Bring a Fire-type Pokemon, or a Pokemon that knows a Fire-type move, such as Mystic Fire. As a Grass/Ice-type, Snover suffers 4x damage to Fire.

Snover's not too much of a threat, but here's what players should know when battling the one in Request 76:

Type

Grass/Ice

Level

50

* Strong against:

Water, Ground, Rock, Dragon, Grass, Flying

Weak against:

Fire (4x), Fighting, Poison, Bug, Steel, Rock, Flying

* Resistances:

Electric, Grass, Ground, Water

* Avoid bringing Pokemon with the Typings listed in the "Strong against" and "Resistances" rows.

Once the mushroom hunting is over and done with, return to Morel to turn in Request 76. He'll give x5 Sand Radishes and x1 Exp. Candy L as rewards. If players haven't completed Request 61: New Wares Yet Again, they can give the five radishes to Tao Hua at the Galaxy Hall. Otherwise, Sand Radishes are used for crafting the Twice-Spiced Radish, a recipe that's unlocked by completing Request 80: The Perfect Pickle Recipe. An Exp. Candy L will give a ton of experience to a selected Pokemon.
