Pokemon Legends: Arceus adds a crafting gameplay mechanic. Rather than spending money at the general store to buy potions, battle items, Poke Balls, or bait, players can simply craft them as long as they have the right ingredients and the recipe. While most recipes can be purchased from Jubilife Village's Crafting Store, some are less obvious and easy to miss.
Once Jubilife Village begins to grow over the story of Pokemon Legends: Arceus, players will be able to purchase Exp. Candies from a stand outside the Galaxy Hall. Speaking to the shop owner a second time will unlock Request 54. Completing this Request will reward players with the Swap Snack recipe.
Unlocking Request 54
To unlock the 54th Request, players must first complete Mission 9: A New Mission and start Mission 10: The Lordless Land. Once the criteria have been met, there should be a small, purple stand outside the Galaxy Hall next to the Merit Shop. This is where players can purchase Exp. Candies.
Since these are quite pricey, it's recommended to farm Exp. Candies from Alpha Pokemon instead. However, speaking to Bonn, the shop owner, is the only way to get this particular Crafting Recipe.
Speak to Bonn, then exit out of the store menu. Speak to him again, and he'll talk about a recipe that his customers aren't very fond of. He'll have players gather one of each:
- Hopo Berry
- Hearty Grain
- Sootfoot Root
Finding the Swap Snack Ingredients
Players will likely already have these ingredients if they've fallen into the habit of gathering everything they see out in the wild. If not, they'll have to look for them in the wild, or they can purchase some of these ingredients from the Ginkgo Guild or the stores in Jubilife Village.
Fortunately, all three of these ingredients can be farmed in the Crimson Mirelands.

Return to Jubilife Village and speak to Bonn. Make sure that these ingredients are in the Satchel and not the storage chest.
Request 54 Reward
Bonn will give a free Swap Snack for gathering the ingredients, and the Swap Snack Crafting Recipe for completing the Request. Players will notice that the Swap Snack has an additional ingredient: Candy Truffle. These can be farmed from the chests and crates around Coronet Highlands, or bought from the Craftswork.
The Swap Snack will swap a Pokemon's Attack/Special Attack with its Defense/Special Defense. It functions similarly to the move Power Trick, which doesn't exist in Pokemon Legends: Arceus. Knowing when and how to use the Swap Snack can give players an advantage in battle.
Pokemon Legends: Arceus is available now on Nintendo Switch.
