With how large the world of Pokemon Legends: Arceus is, it isn't exactly a surprise that players have managed to find references to other popular series sprinkled throughout the title. However, some of these easter eggs are much less overt than others, such as one recently found on Tiktok supposedly finding Attack on Titan's Eren Yeager living in the game's main village.
Jubilife Village in Pokemon Legends: Arceus has quickly become a hotspot for references both within the wider Pokemon series, as well as smaller easter eggs placed around by Game Freak. This has led to some players looking at key aspects of the village and the game's story, such as the Survey Corps that the player joins, as references to all sorts of media, including Attack on Titan.
The Tiktok, shared by user @___sushitrash, focuses on a child in Jubilife Village who expresses a specific disinterest with the walls that have been built around the village. He specifically states that he wants to go outside the walls, a sentiment not shared by many of the other villagers who are content to let the player and other trainers be the ones who go out and explore Pokemon Legends: Arceus' open world. At the end of the video, the poster has also edited in a dubbed over line from Attack on Titan featuring protagonist Eren Yeager and put the series' iconic weapons and green cloak on the child.
While this might be a slight reference to a young Eren Yeager, especially given how much the child in the video does look like a young version of the character, it's likely just a kid that wants to run around without restrictions. However, with the way the story is wraps around Pokemon Legends: Arceus' pokedex and the Survey Corps trying to fill it out, there are a lot of fans looking to find anything resembling Attack on Titan. It's only a matter of time before theory forums start spreading the idea that the show is somehow a prequel to the whole Pokemon series at this point.
Finding the easter eggs sprinkled throughout any game can be fun for players, especially as they start to finish up the story and complete the more obvious objectives. It can give the developers a chance to flex by dropping these little hints across every few steps of an open-world title, and keep players engaged in a game that they might otherwise be done with. With how recent Pokemon Legends: Arceus' record breaking release still is, there are likely to be many more references and fan interperted easter eggs to come.
