Gible is a Dragon/Ground-type Pokemon that was introduced in Pokemon Diamond/Pearl. While its base stats may not be too impressive, patient trainers will find that leveling up a Gible is worth the struggle. Catching and evolving Gible is how trainers can get Garchomp in Pokemon Legends: Arceus. Garchomp is a pseudo-legendary Pokemon with high Attack and excellent Speed.

As with most Pokemon games, Pokemon Legends: Arceus has stronger and usually better Pokemon as players unlock more regions to explore. Gible itself won't be found in the wild until players reach the Coronet Highlands. Furthermore, it's very easy to pass over the location Gible wonders.

Once players have started Mission 10: Scaling Perilous Heights, they'll be directed to the Coronet Highlands. This is a mountainous region that is impossible to progress without the help of Ride Sneasler. Upon arriving, follow after the Diamond Clan Warden's Melli with Ingo through Wayward Cave. Help set up the Mountain Camp and follow Mission 10's objective marker to find Ingo. There, he'll challenge the player to a battle. Defeat him, and he'll summon Sneasler, who will now appear when using the Celestial Flute.

Use Sneasler and her Rock Climb ability to scale Coronet Highland's mountains. Ignore the new objective marker and instead look for Clamberclaw Cliffs (refer to the dragon stamp in the above image).

Gible can be found walking alongside the cliff ledge. It has an aggressive disposition and will attack on sight. The best way to catch it is by using the Back Strike technique. Draw its attention away using an Oran Berry and sneak up on it. Great Balls or Heavy Balls are recommended when catching Gible.

There's a chance an Alpha Gabite, Gible's second evolution, may be roaming around. So if trainers want to have an Alpha Garchomp, they can catch the Alpha Gabite and evolve it.

Gible will evolve into Gabite at level 24; Gabite evolves into Garchomp at level 48. Before selecting 'Evolve' in the pause menu, try to reach level 10 in Gible's research tasks. Gabite's research tasks may be more challenging to fill out because they're even rarer than Gible in Coronet Highlands. When the Pokedex entries for Gible and Gabite are finished, it's time to evolve Garchomp.

Don't forget to visit Zisu at Jubilife Village's Training Grounds to give Garchomp some coverage in battle. It can learn Poison Jab and Iron Head, both of which are great counters against Fairy-type Pokemon.

Pokemon Legends: Arceus is available now on Nintendo Switch.
