Though it isn't perfect, Pokemon Legends: Arceus has delivered yet another commercial hit for Nintendo. Despite some sub-par visuals, and some barebones open-world mechanics, many Pokemon fans are loving the game, seeing it as the innovative next step the franchise has needed for quite some time and a great starting place for future titles. While the game has a decent runtime, taking around 70 hours to reach 100% completion, some die-hard fans have already found themselves without anything left to do.

Thankfully, Game Freak recently released the 1.1.0 update, adding a whole slew of post-game content. While the update was also used to fix bugs and add some new harvesting mechanics, its main purpose was to add some new Requests and modes that are available to players who have beaten Pokemon Legends: Arceus' main quest. One of these modes is the Eternal Battle Reverie mode, which is sure to challenge even the most skilled players.

Explaining The Eternal Battle Reverie Mode

Pokemon Legends Arceus Battle Reverie

Essentially, the Eternal Battle Reverie tasks players with engaging in a continuous stream of battles. The more consecutive battles that are won, the more the player is rewarded with helpful Trainer items like Exp. Candies and Grit. Players can choose to take in any of their caught Pokemon, but once the first battle has started, the choice is locked in until the player is either defeated or leaves the arena.

At the start of each round, the player interacts with Arceus, where they'll be given three potential categories to choose from, such as Flying Type, Strong Offense, or Strong Defense. The chosen category will determine what type of Pokemon the player will face in the next round. Battles can include standard one-on-one matches, duos, or even trios.

The Eternal Battle Reverie mode isn't for the faint of heart, however, as opponents will start with level 80 Pokemon. As the player advances through the mode, the difficulty increases, with level 90 Pokemon appearing after 10 wins, and level 100 Pokemon appearing after 20 wins.

When the player wins their battle, they're awarded a certain number of points based on the difficulty of the match. These points can then be used to buy "Wishes" for the next round. These Wishes range from giving the player the ability to restore the HP of one Pokemon, to inflicting a Status Condition on the opponent, to sacrificing 20% of a Pokemon's HP to earn double points for that battle. These Wishes add quite a bit of strategy to the mode and are sure to give skilled players enough of an advantage to make their way through quite a few matches.

How To Unlock The Eternal Battle Reverie Mode

To unlock the Eternal Battle Reverie mode, players will first need to finish the main quest of the game. This can be done by completing Mission 27: The Deified Pokemon, where players face off against Arceus himself. After that, players will need to the Heights Camp, which can be found in the Obsidian Fieldlands.

Once in the Heights Camps, gamers will need to talk with Mai, who will give the player Request 95. Players will then need to complete Request 95, along with the Requests that are then unlocked subsequently. Once Request 102: Daybreak has been completed, the player will have access to the Eternal Battle Reverie.

To access the mode, all players need to do is head to their quarters, and sleep in their bed for any amount of time. Players will then be given the prompt to start the challenge. The player will then wake up in a mystical arena, where Arceus can be interacted with to start the first battle.
