A common tactic in the video game industry is to offer bonus content to customers who pre-order a game, essentially uses Fear of Missing Out to get people to buy titles before they're even available. Nintendo has used pre-order bonuses in the past like many other video game companies, but it's also offered "early purchase bonuses" that reward players who buy a game within a certain timeframe. Pokemon Legends: Arceus will be the next Nintendo game to offer early purchase bonuses, which were revealed at the end of the latest trailer.

Nintendo released a new Pokemon Legends: Arceus trailer that properly revealed Hisuian Zorua and Hisuian Zoroark. Previously teased in a found footage horror movie-style teaser, Hisuian Zorua and Hisuian Zoroark will be the first-ever dual Normal/Ghost-type Pokemon in the history of the franchise. Pokemon fans will get to check them out in Pokmeon Legends: Arceus early next year, and those that purchase the game within a certain timeframe will also get access to some additional goodies.

Those that buy and play Pokemon Legends: Arceus between its release date and May 9, 2022 will have the chance to claim the Baneful Fox Mask to customize their character with in-game. This mask is based on the appearance of Hisuian Zoroark. The same timeframe will also allow Pokemon Legends: Arceus players get their hands on a Hisuian Growlithe Kimono Set. These items will be rewarded online through the Mystery Gift system in Pokemon Legends: Arceus.

Pokemon Legends Arceus Early Purchase Bonuses

  • Baneful Fox Mask
  • Growlithe Kimono Set
  • 30 Heavy Balls (digital only)

The Pokemon Legends: Arceus Baneful Fox Mask and Hisuian Growlithe Kimono Set will be available to anyone that buys the game and claims them by May 9, 2022. However, those that purchase Pokemon Legends: Arceus digitally will get an additional early purchase bonus. From the Pokemon Legends: Arceus release date until May 9, 2022, purchasing a digital copy of the game will net consumers a code that they can redeem to get a bonus 30 Heavy Balls. The code itself expires on May 16, 2022.

Now that Nintendo has revealed the early purchase bonuses for Pokemon Legends: Arceus, one has to imagine that marketing for the game will really start to ramp up. Once Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl are out of the way, Pokemon Legends: Arceus will be able to get the full spotlight. It's quite likely that there are more Pokemon Legends: Arceus trailers in store for fans in the near future.

What exactly these trailers will entail remains to be seen, but it seems likely that are more Pokemon Legends: Arceus Hisuian forms to reveal, so fans should keep an eye out.

Pokemon Legends: Arceus launches January 28, 2022, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
