The world in PokemonLegends: Arceus has over 200 Pokemon spread across its seven distinct regions. As this game takes place in an ancient version of the Sinnoh region, players will recognize many of the Pokemon they encounter while they explore. One Pokemon Legends: Arceus player, however, found a bug that turned their normal Munchlax into a much more frightening version.

Pokemon Legends: Arceus is the fifth core game in the eighth generation of the Pokemon series. Players in the game are tasked with exploring the different regions and filling their Pokedex by catching as many Pokemon as possible as they go. Munchlax is a Normal type that was introduced as part of the fourth generation.

This post comes from Reddit user Erick_Ibart, and it shows off one of their Pokemon experiencing a bug. In the pair of images, the Pokemon in question is a Munchlax, but it is clearly experiencing a major issue with one of its eyes. This Munchlax is completely missing the right eye and instead has a similarly shaped black hole in the same spot. This makes the Pokemon look as though it has no interior and is just an empty creature. The first image is a closeup of this new version of Munchlax in the game while the second image is a bit more zoomed out, showing the player leaning down towards their glitched Pokemon. There isn’t a clear indication as to what created this situation or when the player noticed this, but what is clear is that something has clearly gone wrong in the game.

There are a lot of theories in the comments on this post as to what has created this look. Some jokingly believe that this Munchlax must have survived a Paras attack while others touch on a theory that Pokemon Legends: Arceus Heavy Balls are to blame. Clearly, however, this is just one of the bugs that has been discovered in the game thus far and the result is quite a sight.

This post reminds players that Pokemon Legends: Arceus is an ambitious change to the Pokemon series formula. With new ways for players to catch Pokemon and an interesting turn order during battles, the game takes the Pokemon franchise in a different direction without throwing away what has made it successful.

Then again, the Pokemon community had high expectations going into 2022 and glitches such as this can be frustrating for players to experience. While players can't expect a flawless title, minor visual bugs can quickly become a nuisance. Either way, however, any player can see what is off with this poor Munchlax, and hopefully this was a one time issue for this player.

Pokemon Legends: Arceus is available now on Nintendo Switch.
